New isuue of Giant Magazine : Joss said....

I just bought the new issue of Giant with Eve on the cover and they have a interview with Joss Stone.... She said that Modern R&B is just noise that highly paid strippers can dance to.... Do you think she's really talking about strippers or her Musical counterparts ???

Probably both and she's not far off the mark.

I don't know if they are really R&B, but the Pussycat Dolls really are just strippers who keep their clothes on.

Well im sure Joss will take heat for this comment, because people hate when the truth is spoken, just like when Elton John makes comments some of us get upset but then we actually think about it and say, holy shit he's right. Well Joss is right, i dont think she is denying that sex doesnt push sales, because things like that have always been, but i think today its so blatant, i think she is more talking about the substance of the music than the actual artist, though they are not far behind. I watched this new RKELLY video the other day, and i was really just floored at what RB has become, he actually has the nerve to say in this song he's the King of RB, and the song is aimed to be played in strip clubs, so really RB has for the most part become strip club anthems and ringtones, and im sorry if people get their feeling hurt but Joss is right on the head with this one, but its not really gonna change the game until people stop buying into it.

I agree, i posted the other day that what i really missed in RB was LIVE music, to me RB was always a front runner with instruments, not that Rock wasnt but RB just had this groove that could do it all, and it doesnt have that anymore, RB may sell, but its soul is long gone.

And in the same interview...

In the media blitz promoting last week’s release of her new CD “Introducing Joss Stone,” which debuts at No. 2 this week on the Billboard 200 album chart, the 19-year-old British soul singer had some interesting things to say in the new issue of Giant magazine.

While Stone had some harsh criticism for today’s crop of R&B singers, her most scathing words were saved specifically for singer-actress Christina Milian, who just so happens to be the ex-girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend, Beau Dozier.

Stone describes most singers today as “just highly paid strippers.” When told she may have just insulted a large swath of singers, she cocked her head to the side, flashed an innocent smile and said, “What? It’s not like I’m not telling the truth.”

When Christina Milian’s name came up in conversation, Stone, according to writer Aliya S. King, “doesn’t bother to hide her disdain for the woman who Dozier, now Stone’s ex-boyfriend, once dated.”

Stone told King: "I could tell you some stories about her... ," then launched into a “profanity-laced tirade against the pop star.”

King writes: “After I point to my tape recorder, reminding her that she's on record, Stone doesn't quit. Instead, she continues to go off on Milian and, even worse, Milian's mother. ‘I’m just honest,’ Stone concludes with a shrug.”

"Christina has never met Joss," Milan’s publicist responds. "She can’t imagine what this is all about."

Supposedly she took tracks that she'd done with Beau Dozier and gave them to Raphael Saadiq, with Beau not being given any credit. Still, it's a game which Raphael isn't exactly new to - there's a track on the Kelis album called "Livin' Proof" which he supposedly produced. He didn't. Michael Angelo Saulsberry (who used to be in Portrait) did it and got royally screwed over.
