Why would U point the finger at a piece of hardware, and not the legion of software available that is making it easy 4 music 2 become as generic as it's become?

U have 2 know how 2 create in order 2 use an MPC.

All of my drum programming is done here, along with some keyboard parts, and samples... My guitar, bass guitar, vox, etc, R recorded "live" on my DAW.

By blaming the MPC, U R essentially questioning every drum machine and sequencer ever made... Don't blame the machine, blame the user.

Let's have some perspective here: Songwriting, the performing arts, musicianship, etc, all of the things that make going to live shows fun, will never go out style, regardless of the hordes of new fangled technological advances.

Wow, I am really a dinosaur, because I actually took out some sheet music to write a song the other day.

In all honesty, I really don't mind this stuff as tools of convenience for musicians. My problem is that so many folks are so lazy that they are completely dependent on software, drum machines, programming, etc. As I have said so many times around here, I just wish people would take the time to learn about music - to actually know the intervals of scales and what they sound like, to know what chords are and how they sound. To learn about melodies and harmonies. Is that too much to ask?

I use Reason as a sound module with Cubase SX.the instruments in reason SUCK !!! but I have tons of Refills with cool sounds.and I use one or two of the combinators sounds...mainly I use the samplers

a lot still has to do with the creativity of the person behind it.
prince would've still kicked some ass in beethoven's day or even back in caveman times. i can imagine a prince caveman kickin out tunes back in the cave.
