Chaka's version of "Shining Star" kicks ass!! headbang It sounds like her Rufus-era material...gritty and funky. Her remake is the highlight of this project.I'm not surprised.Chaka is "old school".She gets it....the whole vibe of EW&F.She could teach these newcomers a thing or two about REAL FUNK.

Word! I really enjoyed Mint Condition as well. I'm a fan wink .

thanx for the info on the new Devoted Spirits!!

I knew that you would be into their music lol It sounds like the kinda stuff that you and TA would be into.I really enjoyed their first CD.In fact,I like it even better than Earth Wind and Fire's last album 'Illumination'.The Devoted Spirits CD is exactly the type of album that the current line-up of EW&F should try to make.....real music, real instruments without the hip-hop nonsense. It's jazzy and adventurous with a spiritual edge.Even Maurice White is proud of what they've done.

The new Devoted Spirits CD will be released in Japan on April 24.It will be released in America several weeks later,I'll keep you informed.
