CS, you're tripping. I could tell you stories, TRUE stroies about some of these R&B stars that would flip you out. You wouldn't believe it. You'd just think I'm lying. I don't snitch, though. I'm not Dallas.
You all have no idea how much dirt goes on in the busiess. Just be happy licking the candy-coated surface. biggrin You don't wanna see the middle. Y'all aint ready. Trust me on that.
Dallas is no innocent mutha luva himself, now. Don't think he is. But Joss is a media darling in the States and so is Christina. All I have to do is pull up threads right here to prove that. Christina made a move to block him from a party. That alone is motive enough. Industry hoes who stop whoreing and build prissy little dream lives for themselves with some captain save-a-hoe often try to run from their past. You make a move to stop somebody's money flow and best damn bet you can expect retaliation. You know ninjas don't play about their paper. Some of your favorite artists have probably fucked for tracks, coke, industry contacts and other things. nod Most of the time, quiet is kept. Dallas knows a LOT more than he's saying because he and I know some of the same people and I KNOW we know some of the same dirt.

This whole ordeal reminds me of a line from The Streets' song "When You Wasn't Famous" (2006)...

"And I knew that when the people who thought they knew you, when they found out, I would've been mocked.
Which is ironic, 'cos in reality, standing next to you I look f*cking soft.
Whenever I see you on MTV, I can't stop my big wide smile.
And past the 'children's appeal,' I see the darkness behind.
We both know the scratches on my back, much better than the alludes and lies.

I miss the bitchin' and shoutin', but I'm glad I got out in time.

I could care less about sales because at the end of the day she is paid, i could care less how a solo record does, is that u're measure of someones talent? sales? So everytime a PRINCE record flops, he sucks and doesnt have talent. As for Ciaras work ethic, does she tour? the only place i see her is on every magazine cover, so is she a model or a singer, maybe a good dancer but thats where i cut her off. As for Range in singing, true its overrated when you dont use it properly, Beyonce Great range, Bad singer.

Prince is a garbage artist, i don't come to this site for Prince he the most overrated artist ever, i just like the diversity of this section of the board

Wait you say "Prince is a garbage artist" but then you're hyping Ciara? hmm Ciara!? .... who can't sing her her way out of a paper bag?

All of these comments are INTERESTING 2 say the least. All I can add is these are the types of reasons I got OUT of the record so called business. 2 much B.S. and u NEVER where it's coming from....until it's 2 late.

Graycap I agree with you. In undergrad I studied the "business" of music and thought I wanted to work in the industry. However, once I got upclose and saw what was really going on, I realized I had wasted my time. For the most part, that "industry" is not about talent, integrity or anything artistically redeeming. It is just overwrought with B.S.!

And as a woman I have to say that these hoes who spread their legs to get ahead really make it hard for self-respecting women out here to be recognized for non-sexual talents.

Well its ture of any industry, the music business is not different. I mean we all preach about how great Prince is and yet have of the stuff we think is what he lives by isnt even true, like "never did drugs" lie, "Never cheated on his wife" lie, "doesnt treat his employees well" very true, there is so much going on. when i was in the record industry, i used to hear all the crap going on at labels. I used to work with a girl who worked at Def Jam and she said there is nothing but 'criminal" activity going on there 24/7, and all this shit that is Coming out about Jay Z now and that he paid off this model that he fathered a child with, this was all known long ago but he paid to keep it quiet, and Beyonce knew it. She also told me of tons of things going on under the table, drug deals with known artists going on right in the offices with execs right there, deals cut with radio stations to play tracks, Radio personalities getting drugs from artists at Def Jam for air time. Theres tons of shit out there. So this goes for everyone from Dallas to Prince to Timbaland to Xtina to whoever. But i do disagree that Joss and Xtina are media darlings, maybe on this forum, but Joss doesnt even get press in this country and xtina everytime i hear about her its usually something bad she said to someone.

predictions on how long this thread goes before it gets locked? I say another few hours

my 2 cents: I don't know what Xtina and Joss did, i wasn't there. But now i have video proof of what he did. That was some scummy snitching, and I'm not sure the amount of people he's gonna piss off will make up for any sense of justice he thinks he's geting out of it.

Did you see the Katt William's HBO special he put on, when he talked about the Playboy Mansion? talked about how u'd be surprised who's gay .. said he saw 2 dudes going @ it there .. and also said.. during Executive Board meetings.. ppl just bust out snorting coke ... tons of ppl with skeletons and ppl 'in the closet' ... industry almost sounds like vultures ..

The difference between the music business and any other business is that everybody knows many of the people in the music business. Some are household names. That makes a huge difference. This sort of thing goes on all the time but people aren't interested in their doctor's affair with his secretary or their postman's affairs with other people on his route. They ARE interested in celebs; especially names like Christina and Joss. Christina used to STAY in People magazine and such. Most of these people have PR built lies built around them, leaving the impression that they are "goodie-goodie" when in truth, they are as skanky as a two-dollar hooker. (Men and women)

Dallas Austin really has no room to be dissing anyone (even if he's telling the truth about Christina or Joss). This man let Usher (I REPEAT, pretty-boy Usher) whip his ass over Chilli (of TLC) a couple of years back. disbelief

A legitimate producer who has a long, long list of accomplishments on his music speaks out when a celeb who got famous singing on tracks HE produced "tells all" because she had him barred from a party (don't get it wrong, parties are where a lot of business connections are made in the biz) and HE's the bad guy? After she fucked five of his friends? GTFOH!!! It is NOT always the man's fault! Those hoes are hoes. Ciara may not be able to sing, but she obviously knows how to conduct BUSINESS.
Poor little Christina - fucked five of Dallas's friends as well as Dallas and it got out. Boo-hoo-fucking-hoo.
Poor little Joss Stone - fucked Novel then screwed him by taking his tracks to Raphael Saddiq, who she also fucked. I'm crying a river over here; crying laughing at the reactions of people on this thread who are finding out that these "media darlings' aren't so darling after all.
Dallas's technique may have been tactless but his point was poignant. She wanted to play games; games were played. I bet before this is over, she will wish she had just STFU and dealt with whatever awkwardness was to come.

wave Welcome back BK!

Dallas Austin, Karrine Steffans, ....it doesn't matter what their name is!!! My point is plain and simple: THEY both nasty for putting their and everyones personal business out there. And they both need to be freaking ashamed of themselves. rolleyes
