Just caught the BEYONCE/SHAKIRA video Well its interesting somewhat how the camera works and almost creates these two ladies to be more identical than they really are. But thats really the theme of this video, but watching i caught a few things, Beyonce seems to make sure she gets the right camera shots, when Shakira doesnt, to almost make it look like Shakira is imitating Beyonce at times. But when Beyonce introduced this video she said something that was NOT TRUE, she spoke about the Video anthology for BDAY coming out and how thats the first time anyone has shot a video for every song on an album ?? WTF??? maybe in this generation but have you never heard of Duran Duran, they did it, also INXS did it a few times, most notably for FULL MOON DIRTY HEARTS. So Beyonce, love you and your hot, but your not the first to do it, dont believe what daddy knowles tells u. The video was OK i hoped for more of Shakira, because i think in terms of Sex Appeal she blows Beyonce away, i think thats why alot of the camera shots were focused more to Beyonce, though they both basically sing the whole song together. It does look like they werent even in the same place filming the video though. sawwy The song itself pales obviously to the video, its uses alot of "catch phrases" like "Shakira Shakira" "Beyonce Beyonce" things like that. I didnt dislike the video, just felt it was missing something, probably more SHAKIRA. I did see clips from all the Vids From BDAY, and though its NOT a unique idea to do a Vid for each song and has been done before, the videos seem pretty good. She kind of slipped when she was talking about UPGRADE U with Jay Z, she said that "She was imitating Jay in the video, well not anymore...." and it was an awkward cut off when she was talking about that. Funny you should say that because it seems the "wardrobe" people on this Video made sure SHAKIRA's outfits were a litte loose and Beyonces were super tight. As a Shakira fan, I find this a low moment in her career! After dueting with Alejandro, both times in a spectacular way, doing a duet with Beyoncé sounds like a bargin bin obligation!  | |

To a point i will agree, but i would even go back to the Wyclef duet. The thing that bothers me is that Shakira,Paulina,Thalia,Jlo all get dogged for doing "ENglish" albums but Beyonce re-records BDAY with Spanish tracks and its groundbreaking? I think Shakira is the most talented performer of this era. She rocks live! They trash her off as pop trash but I think it's amazing how she manages to mix middle eastern and latin elements in to her music and still make them nice and catchy.. And yes she can rock too. | |

Exactly Video Albums have been done MANY times. Even worse she was on BET later today and she premiered the Video for Upgrade U and Beautiful Liar, and of course they had to say "Thats the first time anyone has premiered two videos in one day" WOW! Can people just stop blowing this girls head up at this point. I did enjoy the vids, but with Beyonce im looking at her and could care less what she sings to be honest. Yeah but if you notice the beginning with their dresses, Shakiras looks like it was made for someone twice her size and Beyonces seems to be two sizes too small. I think in this vid they just made sure Beyonces clothing was super tight and small and Shakiras was comfortable to a little too big for her to equal them. Its tough because Beyonce is so much taller than Shakira but i think Shakira hip-wise is bigger for her 'frame" than Beyonce. Now that's a damn lie. Hammer did the same thing years ago with It's All Good & Pumps And A Bumps. These were 2 videos that debut on the same day. | |
