It is. nod Well, I haven't been there in ages, so I don't know if the interior is changed. It's got some brick interior, it's not too big, and I always remember it being really smoky (which won't be the case nowdays). lol The two most memorable shows I went to there were Desmond Dekker and also HR from Bad Brains. Which meant that there was also a lot of weed smoking going on. Things were hazy. lol

I found some pics of it at their website. nod I guess it looks the same as back in the early 90s, but there were never tables set up when I went.

http://www.slims-sf.com/

click on the "private events" section. they show pics of it when empty.

I think they probably just set those up to show people what is possible if you rent the place. hmmm

Damn show prices are expensive these days though! I was checking out the concert schedule and I don't know, I guess I'm just cheap or something. lol

I saw a show at Slim's last year. The tables are not just for show on the website. It also depends on the performer or crowd expectation which determines the need for tables. They serve dinner as well, but I think that area is blocked off as reservations. It's a cool little spot especially to see up and coming musicians, quite intimate.

Anyway, "Lowdown" was always the jam. It reminds me of driving, well in my case riding as a child around SF on a sunny afternoon. Hearing it in the morning gets me movin and groovin.

Didn't Boz write the song, "We're All Alone" and Rita Coolidge sang it?

He wrote it.
His solo version is on the "Hits" album.

Lowdown is cool (although overplayed compared to other good Boz Scaggs tunes).

Look What You've Done To Me and Miss Sun are 2 of my favorites by him.

Audience! hug Thanks for the scoop, I thought Boz wrote the song. In fact, I've heard his and Rita's version already. It's a great song.

I ran a thread about this very song quite some time ago. I've loved this song all of my life. The interplay between the guitar, bass and drums can't get any more perfect. Especially towards the end on the tag.

I remember going to some Bicentennial celebration/picnic thing in my area...lol...it was a fun time.If you had to pick only ONE song that defines the summer of '76,what would it be? I'm thinking "Summer" by War.

"Summer" - heart that song! "Moonlight Feels Right" and "Love Hangover" are good songs too. Wasn't "The Boys are Back in Town" by Thin Lizzy big that summer too? I seem to remember that song being played in heavy rotation that year.
