New Lewis Taylor album

I know that a lot of people that dig Prince also dig Lewis, with the funky-sexy-soul comparisons...

Thought you might like to know that Lewis has a new album coming out on Jan. 30th (tomorrow!!!) - The Lost Album. It's pretty fantastic - even includes three acoustic bonus tracks ("Lucky," "Track," and "Song").

If you're a myspacer - check Lewis out on myspace (http://www.myspace.com/lewistaylorstoned)

I hope you dig the new album!!

I think Hacktone are asking themselves that same question, lol ...They still insist that he's actually still around, working on new music --Meanwhile, Lewis and Co.'s Official stance is still that he has 'quit' the Music Business.....Idunno....It'll be interesting to see if anything develops over the next few days....

I noticed that this same Lost album has been available in the US on iTunes since November of last year, as well as Stoned 1 and 2, and Limited Edition, 2004....(each with a few extra tunes)...

Most of the Lost album was done in 1996. It was intended to be his second album, but the record company (Island) refused to release it (it has a Pop/Rock feel, and they were trying to market him as a strictly Soul artist), so it went into the vaults...Lewis released it on his own in the UK in 2004 on his SlowReality label...

The Hacktone version has a new cover, with a few extra tracks added (but even those were done a few years ago...)

So...I'm happy that Lost is finally getting some fanfare here in the US, but we'll have to wait and see if anything really new gets released in the near future....

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that this is true. I'll have to get it on E(vil)Bay because stores around here don't even know who Lewis Taylor is.

Hey SPYZFAN1 - where are you located??

It's definitely unfortunate that Lewis decided to retire from the music biz, so to speak...he had been contemplating it for a while before making that decision. It is pretty awesome that his music can at least transcend that - did you see the review in SPIN?

AWESOME!!!
