I have to admit, I love this song and even though I don't follow the charts much anymore, I like seeing a song I love hit number 1. Beyonce did the damn thing with this song. nod
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The song isn't even that good.

It just goes to show that an artist with clout in the industry can take a
bullshit song and go a long way with it. It is just as horrible as the first
two singles from this crappy cd.

Considering the message, and the video and the catchy "To the left", well more kind of annoying, but it sticks in your head nevertheless; I'm not surprised. But the tune isn't too bad either.

I think it's hilarious how she says, "I can have another you in a minute". Why would you replace him to get another guy just like him? confused What a dumbass. lol That and that line about how she bought him a car and he's fucking some other bitch in it....hello, what did you expect, stupid. Let him buy his own shit and you buy your own shit that way if it doesn't work out, you don't lose anything. Why the hell is he living in your mansion and not paying half the rent or at least the utilities...I bet Britney is loving this song (shit, it chronicles her life). I do have to admit that the song is pretty damn catchy though. I heard Ne-Yo co-wrote this song with her. Personally, I liked "Ring the Alarm" better and even it wasn't all that.

falloff I've thought about the "I can have another you in a minute" line myself and I thought that doesn't make sense to drop him if the next man will be like him. I still like the song. boxed

lol I actually like bio films. My favorite ones include "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge", "Selena", "The Jacksons : An American Dream", "Ray", and "Walk the Line". I still have to rent "Frida" though. I'm hoping that they decide to do the bio on Lena Horne, since Janet got removed from the project. I await the day when they do one on Prince...that should be amusing.

Then why didn't she say "another guy", or "another man" or "dude" or "fella", "boy", whatever? She said "another you". He didn't sound like he had too many good qualities from what I heard in the song...unless you count his good looks. Maybe she did mean a totally different type of man from him, but that's not what "another you" translates into. Hey, she wrote it...or co-wrote it anyway; I just listen to it and that's how I interpret it. Isn't it amazing how one little word can totally change the meaning of a sentence and thought?

Hey, I like this song 10 times more than "Deja Vu". That song was crap; I don't care what anyone says. I don't know why I'm soo partial to "Ring the Alarm"....maybe it was all that anger and that awesome trenchcoat she was rockin' in the video. That trenchcoat was FIERCE!!!

Exactly. It's one in the line of many Beyonce-helmed songs of completely fucked up independence/subservience themes.

I knew this would be the song off BDay to come for that #1 Spot. I aint mad at ya BeBouncy!!

Roger Friedman from Fox said he spoke with Beyonce at the DG premiere and she's gonna pay for two more videos out of her own pocket. I don't know why she'd have to pay, but I'm guessing it is so she can have more say? She has been in more control of this BDay project (which could be why things started off rocky). Anyway, he said "Greenlight" was not one of the two songs mentioned, which he thought was unfortunate. "Greenlight" would make a good single even though it sounds like a cross between "Crazy In Love" and "1 Thing," but I'll put my money on "Freakum Dress." It has that PE beat I like. Ya'll know B & Company are gonna use that video to show off some more House of Dereon dresses lol....

Roger Friedman is the biggest hack yet who likes to put his bullshit opinions in pieces and try to spi them into fact....So there is probably no truth to that whatsoever! I doubt she talked to him since he berated the album (probably without hearing it).

Now if she is paying for the videos it's because Sony is done releasing sinlges. They have a hit and they want to milk it for....oh, a good six months!
