ARTISTS/PERFORMERS/BANDS CUT OFF POINTS!!!

In your opinion, what CDs from your fave artists/performers/bands were the cut off points for u in terms of brilliance, music genius and music relavance and the point at which their careers went rapidly downhill!!??

heres my list:

Fleetwood Mac - Tango In The Night
Stevie Nicks - The other Side Of The Mirror
Prince - Emancipation
Pink Floyd - The Wall
David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
Peter Gabriel - Up
INXS - Elegantly Wasted
Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair
U2 - Achtung Baby
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
Terence Trent D'Arby - Vibrator

There are some others as well which I cant think of right now, but these are the main ones in my opinion!!

biggrin biggrin

Do you mean last really great album or first fuck-up album album. Here are some last really absolutely great albums from some artists:

Prince - Purple Rain
Rick James - Cold Blooded
The Barkays - Banging The Walls
Cameo - Alligator Woman
Shalamar - Friends
Gap Band - IV
Midnight Star - Planetary Invasion
Isley Brothers - Between The Sheets
Michael Jackson - Off The Wall
The Jacksons - Triumph
Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation
Andy is a four letter word.

omg After Diamond Dogs, Bowie still had Low, "Heroes", Station to Station, Scary Monsters, 1.Outside, Let's Dance, and Heathen!!

And I don't know how anyone that loved Achtung Baby couldn't find something to love on Zooropa or Pop. Plus, ...Atomic Bomb was (IMO) one of their best albums ever!

Anyway, to answer the question (if you mean last brilliant album):

Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope
REM - New Adventures in HiFi
Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (albums after have had moments of brilliance, but haven't been on the same level as before)
B-52's - Cosmic Thing
Rolling Stones - Tattoo You

And, with Music and American Life, I thought Madonna was headed down the same path, so it was a relief to hear some sort of return to form on Confessions.
I'm the first mammal to wear pants.
