Hendrix 'Little Wing' live

Listening to the live version of this song from the Jimi Hendrix Box Set taken from I believe early 1969. My absolute faviorate part of the song is of course his ending solo but especially when he goes into a short but very funky wah-wah solo for a few seconds and it just blows me away how fantastic sounding he is on that wah-wah, WOW!

Anyone else love this as much as me?

Sometimes, I just listen to the intro of this song - it's that beautiful.

This is by far Jimi's best live version from the song. You really must have the blues too play a guitar like that. It's fantastic but unfortunately he didn't sang the line "Fly On Little Wing" before the last solo. Bur great anyway.

Played a gig earlier in the year, and the guitarist from the other band was playing this after he'd tuned up. No mistakes. Bastard! mad

Quite a few folks have played the notes but they never seem to get that vocal/guitar vibe just right. cloud9

Ain't that the stone truth. I have a few different versions of Hendrix playing this live. Including the one mentioned on this thread. The man was brilliant.

absolutely love it!

Reasons why Hendrix is maybe the greatest rockguitarist:

1, He was such a pioneer and innovator.
2, He could make the guitar scream like nobody else. The way he used distortion, bending was incredible.
3. He had so much feeling and a great musical ear. Always played the "right" notes.
4. The way he used the wah wah was out of this world. Never heard anyone master that effect the way Jimi did.
