Suggest an UBER TERRIFIC Album released in 2006 I'm looking to expand my musical horizons again, and I trust you folks to point in some interesting directions.
I'm mostly into Art-Rock type stuff (Radiohead, Danielson, Sonic Youth) right now. But I will listen and dig just about anything if it's done well, and doesn't digress into formulaic style mongering. In other words, No Lenny Kravitz please.

I'm on the verge of giving into the hype and buying this without hearing anything. Sounds right up my alley. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I call them the Living Color of now, without the pretentiousness and with the inpsiration. I actually like them because of desperate Youth cd. . Nothing UBER TERRIFIC was released in 2006. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Yep. I just saw them live on Saturday night in Cologne (in a small venue ). It fucking rocked!!!!! I was really surprised at how good they sounded live actually. I was expecting to be, well, not very impressed to be honest. All those YouTube clips floating around on the internet of their live shows really don't do them justice. It was awesome. I even bought a t-shirt (which I never do since I make my own ) which really says a lot. I was going to start a thread about the show, but I figured "why bother" because I know they have few fans on this site. I adore this album and this band:
I was drawn in by their song and video "Chelsea Dagger" because it has a 70s glam rock sound and frankly, because the lead singer/guitarist, Jon Fratelli looks like Marc Bolan's twin. So then I got the album, and I just loved it. There is perhaps only one song on the whole thing that I don't really care for. I had to add them to my MySpace friends even. I'm a hopeless dork. I'm a real sucker for power trios, just something about 'em that kicks ass generally speaking. The album is manna from heaven being channeled through Led Zeppelin. That said however, I didn't think they were anywhere near best form at the Uk Music Hall of Fame Awards last week!

Damn, you should see how they are being ripped apart in the Zeppelin forums for their cover of Communication Breakdown (right in front of Jimmy Page no less ) I thought they were crap on Tuesday night at the awards playing that song. Which is why I had reservations about how they'd be live. But damn, the walls were just shaking, and there was so much more depth than I had expected. Stockdale's voice was clear as a bell, and his solos were also very good. I was very impressed and had a blast!
