Sticky Wicked(Dumb attempt from Prince's behalf and dumber attempt from Chaka to RAP neutral )

you consider that rap? i never have...its speaking with attitude...and i love it.

If you say so shrug

She herself thought of the whole thing is a "rap propaganda" as opposed to speaking with attitude.

She comments on that collaporation is not knowing what the hell was on her mind at that time(Prince must be a MASTER at convincing disbelief).

Anyway, I know couple of moments where Chaka sounds forced and S.W. is one of 'em.

In "Sticky Wicked" (IMO) Chaka doesnt sound forced as much as sounding "uninterested". I am so shocked that yall like "C.K." over DESTINY. Sure, DESTINY has its clunkers but vocally, Chaka was performing. On "C.K." , Chaka sounds half asleep or just uninterested. The best example is "Signed Sealed and Delivered." Also, what in the world is "Soul Talkin." Mess Mess Mess. I can work with "It's My Party", "Eternity" and the 2 jazz cuts but those other songs sound like demos just placed on a CD("Where Are You Tonite", "Make It Last). I think DESTINY is more of a complete package(albeit flawed) than "C.K." IMO "C.K." is Chaka's "NPS"

I like both of those albums. My fav would be NAUGHTY. I think the CHAKA album has a bit moer commercial/funk/disco sound whereas NAUGHTY is so breezy and all encompassing. Plus, my fav Chaka song ("Papilon") is on NAUGHTY

And "Clouds" dancing jig

I haven`t gotten these cds yet, but i would love to hear Chaka Khan sing "I was made to love him" music

Chaka's version of "I Was Made To Love Him" was alright. Her vocals was on point, the music just sounds real dated. To me, Whitney houston OBLITERATED "I Was Made To Love Him"

I`ve heard so little about this album, is it any good?

the "Destiny" album by Chaka is a bit uneven. It has some good points and bad. I think the album is WAY overly produced and some of the songs are just hilarious(i.e. "Love Of A Lifetime" and "Earth To Mickey"_ but there are some high points like the rocker "So Close." It was Chaka's first attempt at rock as a solo act and she does VERY well. "Tight Fit" was also a great song. I think side 2 is better than side 1 but there is substance under the cheese. I would rank "Destiny" higher than Chaka's cellar dwellar, "C.K."

WHAT!!! I love the C.K. album cool

You mean "Come To My House" confuse?

If so both are alright with gal nod

The reason why I love C.K. becoz it sounds less commercial than her previous 2 albums. She tuned it down abit(thats why some may observe it as unintersting) but if you could give it an objective listen, you may find something to go home with.

Soul Talking is the shit love(Peep Bobby McFerrin's scat solo in the mid dancing jig) he mimicks Chaka TO A DAMN TEE nod I love Brenda Russell's writing, she makes a perfect writing partner with Chaka, but to my recollection they only collaporated on 2 songs during CK's career(Soul Talking and Pardon Me You Remind Me Of A Friend).

I prefer Chaka nod

Sleep on it,,,,everything's gonna be alright music thats a perfect FEEL GOOD gem.

Naughty was recorded at a better time though. Her debut solo's timing with CROWDED as hell, she was on tour, making "Street Player" with Rufus AND recording the sucker.

But everything feels like a one-take project(Which is supricing since Arif Mardin is known for his slick, smooth production).

"Sleep on it" is the song! I always thought that Ashford and Simpson either sang or produced that song. It sounds like them on there in the backgrounds. I also love "Some Love." CHAKA is a solid album. I like it lol

I think this is her landmark SOLO record, IMO.

She was where she wanted(the follow-up, she did the infamous one-take Jazz gig for her album Echos Of An Era).

So, it was a fine period of her career. Not to mention, the production is TOP NOTCH(Arif brough it the baddest of the bad; most of them all,,,Mr.Dizzy Gillespie).

Night Moods is a helluva blue velvet jam music

I agree, this is her finest solo album! 'Naughty' is a close second.
