Can you imagne what the reaction would have been if the races of the two performers were reversed? A brotha doing what Twigstream did on stage would have conjured up images straight out of Birth of a Nation.
[Edited 9/22/06 20:00pm] I agreed with that one! and folks were already outrage too over Nicole Sheridan and Terrell Owens incident as well. What cracks me up is Terrell is the one ended up apologising for something I dont see wrong. Excellent point, they always come up with some excuse for it but anyone with half a brain and a bit of awareness knows what the real issue was.

Timberlake threw her to the hounds on that. She should have just some out and been like, "yeah we did that. yeah he knew we were gonna do it. yeah he betrayed me."
Timberlake was acting like she set him up when all this first started. I remember hearing some interview he did on the radio when he was basically saying he ain't know the titty was coming out but she did. He's a punk ass.

I agree with this! If they both would have apologized together, then perhaps people would have taken Janet's apology seriously. Instead we had Janet apologizing, getting ridiculed and being blackballed, while Justin 'Now I wanna act like Prince' Timberfake pretended to be all dumbfounded and innocent. Which is pure bullshit, and another example of how narrow-minded and gullible the majority of the American public still is!
Justin will NEVER be as good as Prince is. Keep dreaming, Justin! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

As an example of how badly the whole thing was blown out of proportion, lemme tell you this little story. The incident happened during my last year of high school. Every year my school has an airband competition. (basically, air guitar and lipsynching to music with touches of humour, and the most entertaining act wins) Two of the groups who entered had Jackson-related humour. One had a boy in drag as Janet miming the TittyFreakOut incident with another boy dressed as Timberlake. The other entry had one boy dressed as Michael, and a few others dressed as little kids, showing what's supposed have gone on at the Neverland Ranch. Guess which group got banned from the competition? If you guessed Michael, you'd be wrong. Probably, because Janet thing happened infront of millions of people. Whereas MJ was all about "He said this" or " he Did this", there is no concrete evidence with MJ. It's not like there are any R.Kelly type videos floating around on the net. All in all the whole Janet thing was blown out of order, especially when you think of the nasty things Madonna has got up to over the years. I personally think the over-reaction was to do with her being a Jackson. Don't forget at the same time MJ was awaiting trial for child-abuse. It was like they couldn't have more than one Jackson at a time being "Scandalous". [Edited 9/22/06 3:53am] Oh I know what you mean, and you're probably right. I just couldn't get my head around how one Jackson's bare tit was worthy of being banned but fairly explicit jokes about another Jackson's alledged behaviour was deemed appropriate for a family crowd. Ass-backwards if you ask me. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
