VMAs 06

Anyone xcited? Should be better this year, with Jack Black hosting and Justin, Xtina, Beyonce, The Killers and more performing. The 05 Awards were kinda eh, and the 04 Awards were just horrendous

Sounds like the biggest snoozefest since...last year. Beyonce is the new substitute for Janet, Xtina for Madonna, Justin for MJ, The Killers for Aerosmith or whatever rock band's cock the MTV execs are sucking this year...Jack Black? Yeah, he's funny for about 3 seconds.
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I can't wait to hear The Raconteurs live. Also, I'm sure Jack Black will be much better than P. Diddy. He should never be allowed to host anything ever again.

I'm looking forward to seeing it but I get home late tonight so I may only see the last hour and then i'll have to wait for a repeat.

Let's see what Bouncey and Timerlake have up their sleeves.

Not excited...don't really like the award shows, but I'll keep it on in the back. Curious to see what Shakira and Justin do.

Aren't you looking forward to Beyonce' flopping that weave of hers around. I hopes she rocks that horse tail she whipped around in the Ring The Alarm video. lol

I like Jack Black and I was curious about Christina’s performance but I don’t think I can do it. Too long, boring and horrible.

I had been flipping back and forth over there. What the hell was Lou Reed doing out there with the Raconteurs? lol The bulk of MTV's audience don't care about him or the Raconteurs....they want All American Rejects lol I felt like MTV added them on the bill to draw in a different fan base....didn't work. They didn't even let them play long which I thought was unfair. My brother's a big Velvet Underground fan, so I called to tell him that Lou Reed was out there and by the time he got to the t.v , they were done....gone in a flash. lol I liked O.K Go's performance.....they pulled off the treadmill thing just like in the video, but they weren't hooked up to any mics. I turned it after Beyonce.....I kinda wanted to see her all girl band, which they didn't even show. "Ring the Alarm" is a horrible song, imo. The whole screaming thing comes off so phony with her. It worked with Kelis's "Caught Out There" though lol My gamecocks are playing, so I'd much rather watch the football game right now, because I don't think anybody else I wanna see is gonna come out.

VMAs 06 worst moment #1:

- Missy Elliot
First she comes out wearing a garbage bag.
Then she gets knocked in the head by one of the dancers umbrella props.
Then she got stuck in that miniature car and needed help getting pulled out.

Shouldn't that have been a group for last years show? Killers haven't had an album since 2004

I don't think it would get any worse than that lol: lol

Why they put her in a Jeep power wheel is beyond me!

Did Black Sweat win the VMA for which it was nominated? (I'm guessing no...)

What song was she performing? ALL of the above reminds me of "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)"

bored I forced myself to watch some of this mundane exercise in mediocrity so that I could discuss it with my students tomorrow. I will have them craft a group essay about the best and worst parts of the show.

However, when I say forced, I mean FORCED! This show was just awful. Lip syncing has become the standard on these shows. Sadly, some of the people who tried to sing live would have been better off lip syncing. Beyonce's performances are getting progressively worse and it is a shame.

Panic at the disco??? What is that all about?
The Killers? Man, mainstream rock is weak as hell!

Ok Go - Who the hell are they and why am I being told that a bunch of guys on treadmills is a great performance?

Justin Timberlake? His, uh falsetto needs some work! He looks like he's thinking "and a 1 and a 2 and a 3..." when he's dancing.

Avenged Sevenfold? The Black Eyed Peas with the "Lovely" (LMAO) Fergie?

That Hype Williams "tribute" was awkward and dull. I laughed when the umbrella hit Missy in the head. biggrin

Britney and Kevin? That was not funny.

Lou Reed was literally on stage for about 30 seconds it seemed.

What is more disgusting is the plastic veejays salivating over these "artists" and raving over their embarassingly lame performances.

I must really be an old fart, because I thought this show was HORRIBLE!!! It reminded me of a talent show at the high school where I used to teach. Actually some of those kids could have done a better job LIP SYNCING and dancing to the same tracks.

Oh, and Sway needs to take a communications class.
