Annie Lennox Gets Busy On New Album


Annie Lennox can take a notoriously long time between albums, but the artist is now working on a new project, although no delivery date is in the offing.

"I am writing at the moment. I'm at the early stages so I'm not really able to say who I will be working with," she tells Billboard. No theme has emerged for the follow-up to 2003's "Bare" (J Records), she says, although, as usual, her standards are high.

Lennox is hoping to deliver an album "with 12 strong, powerful, really emotive songs that people can connect to." If she achieves that, she says, "I can feel proud of [it], no matter if it sells 10 copies or 50 million."

"Bare," Lennox's first solo album in eight years, debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200.

"medusa" was too soft.

"bare" was too hard.

"diva" was just right.

i wonder if the next album will eat me alive?

looking forward to it...

But i wish she had stuck together with Dave in the wake of their pair of brilliant tracks for the Ultimate Collection and parlayed that into a new album and tour. I miss Dave's influence on Annie's music.

I loved "Bare" but I agree with "Medusa". Still haven't bought DVD yet. I don't know what I'm waiting for...maybe a special edition.

Wasn't she beginning work on this 2 years ago?
