I don't get it. Vibrator is the one TTD record I never really got into. But it seems to be everyone's favorite.

I am the same way...its ok...but incredibly incosistant. I like songs on there but as a whole its hard to listen to. Same with Fish and Fantasy or whatever the hell that one is called. LOVE I'll Be Alright, Side of Love, and Attracted To You...the rest kinda blows.

His best by far is Symphony or Damn followed by the debut. S/D is one of those rare albums that is experimental and accessable at the same time. Killer songs from beginning to end.

I really liked Symphony or Damn, too. I think She Kissed Me wasn't the best choice for a first single, though.

Do You Love Me Like You Say? was the first single at least here in the UK. btw, this thread made me listen to SOD again and I have to say Turn The Page is such an audacious feat of songwriting. The way he crams so many words in and makes it fun to listen to is rare. Usually word overkill shows a lack of craft, but in that song it's just pure fun.

It was on my list from the other thread.
I even bought the vinyl edition made like "Songs in the Key of Life " with the 4 song 7" included.

"I'm sure Van The Man of whom I'm a fan would surely understand when he said "It is not why, it just is", therefore you need not remain scarred".

Love it!

That song meant a lot to me at the time, when "the water was rising and I couldn't remain."

I used to listen to it over & over--never turning the page!

Same here. It's obvious Terence has been there and he tries to share with people what he found when he was there.
