Great 'new' artists - name your names When i look at this forum it occurs to me that many threads are dealing with artists who 'shined' during the 70' and 80's. Like there isnt great music produced any more nowadays. So, i thought, lets start a thread about new artists. Heres my list of records i bought in the last years from artists who are relatively 'new' and did impress me a lot.
I am curious about your choices too, so my question is: name some new artists who you think are very good (with 'new' i mean the last 5 years, not to make it too narrow a choice). My picks: Endrick Brothers - Built to last (scottish blend of countryrock and powerpop) Damien Rice - O (singer-songwritter with very personal and posessed sounding lyrics and voice) The Yearlings - Utrecht (dutch band mixing countryrock with REM-like janglepop) Teddy Thompson - Seperate ways (singer-songwriter with a beautifull voice, sober arrangements, son of folk-rock icon Richard Thompson) | |

Leela James - Janet,Mary,Beyonce or Tamar can't stand in the same room with her.
Conya Doss - What Mary J would sound like if she could actually sing. "a poem by Ms. Doss" smokes anything that Mary, Janet or Beyonce has put out in the last 10 years.
