wow.....um.....i thought this was a back to basics record

i did too. from all of the talk she did about it last year i thought she was going to break out and do something classic.all that talk about being able to stand alone onstage with a single spot and an evening gown...and we get THIS????mad

The whole concept of making an album inspired by the 20s, 30s and 40s with slick hip-hop producers sounded awful and I have an idea it will be.

Not necessarily. Look at soul artist LENA, with all of her Josephine Baker inflections mixed with Jay- Z's oversight. I love a lot of tracks from her first cd. Then of course a wider known example would be how Erykah Badu was able to successfully infuse Billie Holiday style phrasings into her debut cd, Baduizm....cool

That cracked me up for some reason lol

lol Once you hear it you'll know what I mean.

It really is pretty bad. This has to be the worst thing she's released thus far.

this song is not awful, but its not great either, its just ok. although it doesnt make me worried for the rest of the album because i like it better then dirrty which i thought was just as or even more generic and tuneless as this song. i just hope its like stripped where she releases the worst song on the album first but the rest is killer

Um, this thread says I don't like the song. It's my opinion. And yeah, I defend Janet because I like her. I'm sorry I do not have any sort of fam feelings for Xtina (maybe you do?). I still don't understand what your big problem is. There are threads like this on the org all the time. Do I call you out because you happen to like Wendy & Lisa but shit on other artists sometimes?
