Doyle Bramhall II

The man is such an awesome guitarist, it's sickening. I'd post the YouTube link I just saw of him killing a solo on an Eric Clapton song ("Have You Ever Loved a Woman") but it'd only be deleted (perhaps, appropriately -- I haven't decided yet).

I should be used to his skills. "Welcome" is full of killer solos and arrangements and was preceded by albums with equally skillful guitar work.

But, dang!!!! Forget Prince (still a VERY good guitarist) -- but DB2 makes me want to take off a day's work and spend 8 hours PRACTICING.

He's the real deal!

He does a KILLER version of Curtis Mayfield's "Pusherman" on his web site. Cool falsetto! Unfortunately, it's not available for download sad

I have all of his albums, including the Arc Angels, which is a definite classic. He and Charlie Sexton made a great songwriting/vocal team. One must be pretty talented if both BB. King and Eric Clapton cover your songs on their albums and take you on tour with them (Clapton).

"Aint' Goin' Down Slow" currently spinning. Amazing, how he duplicates Hendrix tones and feel.

Repeatedly.

In fact, in some parts, it sounds a lot like the precursor to "Bitter" (what I consider a masterpiece for them).

Get thee to eBay right away!!!

On the double!!! If you're lucky, it'll be selling for less than $20.

Y'know, I actually bought his first CD for 2 bucks out of a bargain bin maybe a year after it was released...
