Some good stuff from my home country:
A really great german band: Wir sind Helden 2005: "Von hier an blind" 2003: "Die Reklamation" And all of Xavier Naidoo's albums. He's Germany's finest soul singer: His new album is called "Telegramm für X" (2005) [Edited 2/28/06 11:57am]

Early 80's goth punk at its best. Musical, but brutal. Scary as fuck. More 80's hardcore. Robert Christgau gave this one an A+ which is rare for him. Brutal, and funny lyrics from a band, with the lead singer a noted rock critic. Favorite song--They Saved Hitler's Cock Symphonic music done right. Mind jolting piano Scary soundtrack music from one of music's greatest genius' All you others say Hell Yea!!

And yeah, it's changed to Jarvis Cocker for the time being. But Jimmy Page will be back in no time I'm sure. I think it's formulaic, over stylized, and predictable. Again, not trying to belittle your opinion in any way. I guess I just don't get Kravitz.

I'd recommend anything by Doyle Bramhall II (Wendy's brother in law), I think people on this board would probably like his self titled debut CD, which was produced by Wendy and Lisa. It's kind of hard to find, maybe check Ebay??

FunkJam said: Very Cool. I really love this record too - to my ears nearly every song is a fantastic production. Didn't he play almost every note of 'Live' himself? For one guy he brings one hell of a group mojo. Lots of that sort of thing on '5' (and most of his records really). You can call him derivative, but he makes classic rock that's better than classic rock. 2 songs I can't stand though, 'Little Girl's Eyes' (boring!) and 'Straight Cold Playa' (kinda fluff)
