Since she has a new album coming out this year, I felt it was only right to spotlight this goodie from her criminally underappreciated debut. i do hope this is the year this album gets released..
trivia time: wendy and lisa were scheduled to produce farris' follow up album aroun 97 or so...but dionne got pregenant and then jonathan melvoin passed away and the whole deal fell through...such a shame cause i'd love to hear what they could have created together. Space for sale... | |

Yeah....it was a 'one hit wonder' but the whole album is great. If you don't have Wild Seed Wild Flower, pick it up now! Hope her new one is as good as that. Did she ever get back with Arrested Development? I think she never did. | |

I LOVE Dionne Farris's first cd...I used to wear her version of "Blackbird" out back in those days....
If you guys like Dionne,then you should also check out the 2003 release of one of her backround singers Leesa Richards...she's real cool peeps; beautiful,talented, grounded...and real..... www.leesarichards.com this woman is AMAZING to see live...I was at one of her industry showcases in South Beach and she TORE THE PLACE UP! | |
