Ever had a bad concert experience? I saw B.B. King last night. He was amazing.
But I'll be gotdamned if they crowd didn't almost ruin it for me. Folks kept trying to get in front of me or other people(why do people do that rude shit?), a bitch stepped on my foot trying to grab a necklace that Mr. King was trying to give to me, four fights almost broker out right next to me, the opening act sucked ass and they had jugglers(nothing says concert experience like jugglers ) and a rapper who was a brokeass Eminem. I would greatly appreciate if venues could go dry. HOB was very irresponsible in sending someone through the crowd constantly selling beers to already drunk motherfuckers.

aw man, sorry to hear people were buttholes...but you're always gonna have to deal with jerks at concerts, especially at general admission shows. it's getting to the point where i have to really really REALLY like a band to go to a GA show anymore, because i don't want to deal with the weaselly cutters and the drunken ass-biscuits.
i've dealt with a lot of assholism at shows...the worst is still the show you were at with me - the prince concert where the woman next to me in the front row wouldn't get off her damn cell phone, even when the man was right in front of us doing a guitar solo. or else she was trying to take pictures of him with her damn cell phone. i was really wishing he'd jump off stage and smash that damn cell of hers with his spiked cuban heel.

Right now, I'm saying that I'm so turned off to GA shows that if Prince is doing one when he gets here, I ain't going. That was the worse, too.

It's better to have seats, too. I don't have to worry about other folks coming down to step in front of me then. That chick at the first show you and I went to was tacky. People are just fucking selfish.

General Admission shows can be obnoxious. That's why I try to get there early enough to be in the front row. But then I end up with people behind me complaining because I'm too tall. Why should I rescind my position that I got by showing up earlier than YOUR short ass?
I've also had awful experiences with seated shows- where people complain if you stand up to dance. I find this to be the more frequent issue, so I prefer GA shows. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

i'm kind of a vet with GA shows, so i usually know how to deal with fools like that. i do find it amazing that i haven't gotten my ass whupped yet. the one thing i can't stand though, is when there's only a half an inch of space between you and the people on all sides of you and then some fool decides to try and squeeze through and stop right in front of you, that's when i tapped them on the shoulder and say, "you gots to move around son".

I never used to say anything to people like that. These people expect no one to say anything. Not Ivy. I was going off all night. One guy even said he got kicked out and made his way back in and was determined to make it to the front of the stage. I told him "I don't give a fuck about none of that as long as you don't stand in front of me."

Yes. Missy Elliott, 2004. The worst "performance" I have ever seen. All bling, no sing, if you know what I mean.

that would be a priceless concert memory right there if he did that. as for me..well, there are two incidents that i can think of: 1) when i was about 17 or 18, me and a bunch of friends went to super toad (this nightclub/concert hall-thing waaaaay out on the east side of des moines) for an all-ages show, with slipknot (way back before they made it big!) as the headliner. slipknot came out and did their thing...rocked my little teenaged ass off...i was literally right in the front row, up against this metal crowd-guard-thingy, dead in front of one of the speakers. i couldn't hear for 2 days straight afterwards. oh yeah, and at one point i almost wound up in a mosh pit that was forming right by where i was standing...luckily i got to move outta the way before i got sucked in and got stomped on or whatever. 2) back at my very first paisley party, i was having a hard time seeing the stage (i'm 5'5", so i ain't that tall) so i tried to make my way towards the front. most of the people who i passed by were nice enough to let me go by (yes, i used my manners as always and said "excuse me")...then i got about 2 or 3 rows in towards the front. there were these two amazonian chicks who were even more amazonian, due to the both of 'em wearing high heels. i tried to peek around 'em--i woulda had a perfect view of the stage without being dead in front if i coulda seen beyond 'em without them moving all the way over--i politely said "excuse me..." don't you know them two heffas looked back towards me, gave me this look like "ha!", and then turned right back around. i SO wanted to reach up and bash their heads together, three stooges-style. prince ain't stuttin ya'll, let a short sista at least see the damned stage... stiletto edit [Edited 2/18/06 20:49pm]

I've told this story here before, but I believe it's worthy of a repeat.
Shortly after "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" came out, I got the chance to see Sinead O'Connor in concert. I was very excited as I loved "The Lion & The Cobra" and thought its follow up was just as strong. Sinead came out onto the stage, sang three songs, said to the audience, "That's the minimum of songs I have to sing for you to not get your money back. Sometimes life's a bitch," and promptly left the premises. We kept waiting for her to come back to the stage - but she never did. I promplty sold her two albums the next day. At least she got the "bitch" part right. "She made me glad to be a man"

Ex-Moderator | The worst concert experience I remember was my own darn fault. I was sunburned beyond belief on my arms and the next day tried to get up front at a Babes in Toyland show. People were rubbing up against my arms the whole way through and all through most of the set till I couldn't take it and had to walk out of the crowd. |
