All Along The Watchtower by J.Hendrix (originally B.Dylan)

"A Change is Gonna Come"

I've heard Sam Cooke's, of course, as well as Aretha's and Otis' and TTD's impressive cover. Leela James even has her own, solid update.

i REALLY liked Tracy Chapman's version that she performed live on a television show way back when

oh yeah, and i've always loved Sinead's version of "Nothing Compares 2 U"

I heart Sam Cooke (You Send Me is one of my all time favs), & I haven't heard any other versions of Change Gonna Come but I just can't imagine liking anyone else's version better. It was such a perfect song for that scene in Malcom X...

anyway here are some of my favs:

Cruisin'--D'Angelo
Can't Take My Eyes Off of You--Lauryn Hill
I Can't Make You Love Me--George Michael
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
