All Along The Watchtower by J.Hendrix (originally B.Dylan) I was kinda let down, when I heard Bob's version after Jimi's.

I've heard Sam Cooke's, of course, as well as Aretha's and Otis' and TTD's impressive cover. Leela James even has her own, solid update. i REALLY liked Tracy Chapman's version that she performed live on a television show way back when oh yeah, and i've always loved Sinead's version of "Nothing Compares 2 U" [Edited 2/9/06 19:59pm]

I Sam Cooke (You Send Me is one of my all time favs), & I haven't heard any other versions of Change Gonna Come but I just can't imagine liking anyone else's version better. It was such a perfect song for that scene in Malcom X...
anyway here are some of my favs: Cruisin'--D'Angelo Can't Take My Eyes Off of You--Lauryn Hill I Can't Make You Love Me--George Michael The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
