INXS "Story to Story" Longtime Fans only

I have seen many Posts about INXS recently, and sometimes many of the Opinions are coming from FANS that Jumped on in the KICK days. I myself joined on when SHOOBAH came out in 1982, and then I went back to the previous works. Though everyone is entitled to an opinion, I dont think U can be fair when you are judging a Band from their Commercial Peak and then Down. I was against the WHOLE ROCKSTAR idea, just because I hate things Like American Idol and all those shit shows, But honestly I wasnt against INXS working together, since this is a Band. I request that EVERYONE who has been to INXS as long as I have and has been hesitant or against the Idea of Recording with someone else, to go out and BUY "STORY TO STORY" the ONLY official, endorsed, Story about INXS, speaking to Members, friends, and Lovers. This Book is a great Read, at times Very Sad, Very Uplifting and Very Disturbing. I like Many REAL FANS find their Work between 1992-1997 to be their best work, but in this book I found that this was their most troubled, the most they Fought, sometimes Violently with each other (Michael threatens Farris Brother with a Knife), obviously i knew it was a personal Hell for Michael, but this Book doesnt make U feel sorry or paint a Picture of Perfection of ANYONE involved which I think is what Ruins other books like this. Those Final days of MICHAEL will always be a debate, how he died, was it an accident, did he just kill himself. Other parts of the Book that really touch a nerve are the way each band member tells how they felt when they heard the news and then how they spent the time afterward. How the Band members got together days afterward and Rehearsed how they would Carry Michaels Coffin, when just days earlier they were rehearsing Solos and Vocals. Also in this book are a really touching story of TIM FARRIS whos last talk with Michael was a dispute about Michaels personal life and how to this TIM suffers from that depression of that fight. Also in this Book are the details of the bands struggle when the COMMERCIAL peak was over, how MICHAEL wanted the band in the early 90's to get into GRUNGE, in fact michael blasted Nirvanas Nevermind so much he blew the studios speakers out, the other band members said "yeah its a good Album, but whats the point of being like someone else". The band fought alot of these years, not knowing what would happen, there is no gurantee had Michael Lived that they would have continued, even though they just signed a deal with Universal, and recorded their Finest Work ELEGANTLY WASTED, they were still not happy, and may have broken up anyway, or Micheal may have just left to go solo.

There are many GREAT facts in this book, many will surprise U, touch U, anger U, and make U think. There will always be debate about the end, but there is no Debating that Michael and INXS were one of the greatest Bands of this generation for being UNIQUE.

I think the most touching thing in this Book, was Michaels last conversation a Half hour before his death, he called his Ex Girlfriend and Best Friend MICHELE and told her in a helpless voice "I need You", she went to his hotel but he was already dead.

I've been a fan since 1982 as well... and I would definitely agree that 1992 thru 1997 is their best period. Thanks for the book recommendation! Sounds interesting.

I read the book in like three days, it was a great read. I was a little shocked at the amount of drugs they were doing and I had to go watch Live Baby Live to see Kirk chewing on his X. cool

I agree, i read the book super quick too, Such a great Read, no bullshit, no fake praise, no sugar coating things either. I too was surprised by the amount of Drug use and the Fighting during the later years, and how they might not have stayed together anyway after Elegantly Wasted.

I also loved the Fact about How MICHAEL was singing "I'm better than OASIS" in the Mix on Elegantly Wasted which If u listen carefully U can hear him singing that a few times.
