All I can appreciate them for is their one song back in the mid 80s. It was one of the first songs I downloaded from Napster.

Basically, if you just get their Greatest Hits, there's not a single bad song on it.

Denise has such a good voice! But what about the guy that always wears make up now, and he used to be in charge of making their costumes...Stedman? He was a bit strange....

worship THE BESTEST GROUP EVER!!!!! worship

Five Star (aka 5 Star) is a British pop/R&B group from Romford in East London. Formed in 1983, the group is comprised of three sisters, Denise Pearson (born June 13, 1968), Doris Pearson (born June 8, 1966), and Lorraine Pearson (born August 10, 1967), and their two brothers, Stedman Pearson (born June 29, 1964) and Delroy Pearson (born April 11, 1970).

The group was put together by their father, Buster Pearson (a former musician originally from Jamaica), who also acted as their manager. Considered by many to be a British version of The Jacksons, they were produced by Carl McIntosh of popular R&B group Loose Ends. They went on to have many UK hits between 1985 and 1990, scoring their biggest success in 1986 with top ten singles "System Addict", "Can't Wait Another Minute", "Find the Time", "Rain or Shine" and their multi-platinum selling album Silk and Steel. Further top ten hits "Stay Out of My Life" (penned by Denise) and "The Slightest Touch" followed in 1987 as well as a Brit Award for Best British Group.

The group's popularity had dramatically declined by 1989 (their Greatest Hits collection released that October peaked at No. 53 on the album chart) and in the early 90s they relocated to the US, continuing their career with moderate success (the 2001 single "Funktafied" was a big hit on the US R&B chart). Five Star returned to the UK in 2002 (now a trio comprising of Denise, Lorraine and Stedman) and continue to perform at various venues (which have included the 2002 Here and Now nostalgia tour) with plans of recording new material in the near future.

2005 saw the group release new versions of their classic hits "System Addict" and "The Slightest Touch" in the UK.

I never liked 'All Fall Down'. 'The Slightest Touch' was always my favourite, and even moreso when that manky Louise Nurding/Redknapp covered and butchered it a few years ago.

People slag off 'You Rock My World' and 'Another Weekend' but I think they're excellent.
