I know she's a huge fan.Several years ago,she was going around with a Kylie Minogue T-shirt on,lol.

DavidEye said: I also love the way "Forbidden Love" segues into "Jump".That percolating beat sounds alot like the early 70s novelty hit "Popcorn",but I don't think it's a sample.
That's my favorite too. Unfortunately, on the iTunes version where they separate the tracks and give them their own beginning and end, that percolating isn't in there. I'm guessing it won't be on the single version either if it ends up being chosen. Bummer.

DavidEye said: So,is the iTunes version (with the separated tracks) worth having? Are the tracks slightly longer? I'd say so. Some are shorter, some are a bit longer. They all definitely have a beginning and end that distinguishes them. It's a mixed bag for me. When I first got the album, I thought it was generic and not much jumped out at me. So having the non-continuous mix on my iPod was great for isolating individual songs and finding out what I really do and don't like. But part of the appeal of this album is its energy and flow, so the continuous mix is good too. I guess it just depends on the way you want to listen to it. When I'm working on something or driving or dancing, the CD version is best. When I really want to LISTEN, I like the iTunes version.

some more observations....
***I really, really hope the song "Sorry" is not directed at her husband she's pretty harsh on this song, isn't she? Don't explain yourself cause talk is cheap....there's more important things than hearing you speak ***has anyone found the sample of "Like A Prayer" yet? It's somewhere on this CD,but I can't seem to hear it ***A recurring theme on this album seems to be "seize the moment and don't hesitate".The songs "Hung Up","Jump" and even "Get Together" (don't you believe that we can change the future?") all have a lyrical urgency where she is basically saying "do it NOW!"."Future Lovers" follows this same theme,to a lesser extent. ***"Forbidden Love" is now one of my favorites!! At first,I found it to be dull and lifeless. But,now I am really moved by this track. It's hypnotic and dark-sounding,and if you listen to it on headphones,it takes you to another world.

That one is still my least favorite for the reasons you mentioned, although I don't feel it as harshly. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

That seems strange to me, cuz there are nearly 5 times as many people in the US. Correct...Hence my statement that it takes far less sales to go platinum in the US than it does in the UK...The numbers I gave were just an example...It's more like 300, 000 in the Uk and 600 to 700, 000 in the States...

I thought US platinum was 1 million. You're both right. Platinum = 1 million units shipped to the retailers by the record company (a.k.a "sold" to the record stores by the label). Often if an album sells around 600k or more to consumers, it is automatically re-bought by major retailers and goes "platinum." That doesn't necessarily mean that one million unique customers went to the store and bought it. We all know American Life was certified "platinum" but was not bought by a million people. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Madonna, Underwood and Mariah Battle for Top Position, with Madonna Holding the Lead
November 21, 2005 It’s been a close race all week between the ladies, but it looks like age and experience trumps all, as Warner Bros.’ Madonna edges her way to the top of tomorrow’s chart. Our happy number-crunchers here at HITS predict that Maddy, now a respected elder stateswoman amongst the divas, will sell 340k, beating out American Idol winner Carrie Underwood’s Arista/RMG debut release, which our crunchers predict will sell 300 to 310k, putting her way above the predicted #3 winner—Mariah Carey, who should sell between 175 and 180k copies of a new expanded version (complete with DVD) of her The Emancipation of Mimi. Interestingly, 50 Cent’s Shady/Aftermath/Interscope soundtrack for Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ and RLG’s Kenny Chesney continue to battle it out neck-to-neck—albeit for fourth place this week—with Fitty between 165-170k and Chesney with a slight edge at 170k. And UTV’s Now That’s What I Call Music compilation is next, with a healthy 160k. In addition to stalwarts Nickelback (Roadrunner/IDJ) and Black Eyed Peas (A&M/Interscope), looking to take #8 and #11, with 90k and 80k, respectively, look for the remainder of the list to include a battle between these debuts—Big & Rich, another hot one for RLG, with 140k; Reprise’s Green Day set to sell 85k of their live disc; and Epic’s Ginuwine at 85k.
