One of the most kickass, strange, colorful, fucked up, fully formed debuts of all time. I never get sick of hearing it.

I need advice:

(A) Should I bother buying the Boxset or just buy the individual albums? Apart from the packaging, is there any other difference?

(B) Would you recommend I start from their first album onwards or go straight to the classics first?

the box set is cheaper. at least, here in Holland it is.

if i buy the boxset it costs me € 99,90

so that's € 12,50 per album.

if i buy the albums individually, they're
gonna cost me € 15,90 each.

so the boxset saves you € 27,-

apart from that, i don't see much reason
to buy the boxset since it's only a box.
no special extra songs or anything that
are not on the individual remastered cds

i suggest buying all the albums though.
it is hard to advice one single album for
someone who is just getting into them imo
because i can only recommend them all as
they all have great songs and astounding
moments of music on them.

I've had the Greatest Hits for years and I love that. I'm just glad I didn't buy all the albums before they were remastered (which is what usually happens confused ). I quite like dipping in and out of some artists careers but, in this case, I don't know if I should deal with them chronologically.

Are you a big fan, Nat?

yeah I guess you could say I am... I've liked pretty much every single song I've heard of both the Eurythmics and Annie Lennox solo (and Dave Stewart for that matter!) and the new song "I've got a life" I fell in love with that song when I heard it on Annie's website nod

nod That and "ABC (Freeform)" jumped out at me.

As for those interested in where to begin, I can attest to the fact that each of the 8 albums remastered is full of wonderful surprises. I'm a mega-fan, for sure, but there isn't a clunker in the bunch. If you are cautious, I would suggest starting with Sweet Dreams and Touch and then moving on to Be Yourself Tonight. If you are still hooked, get the rest!

I can agree with that. But if you're sure that you're going to get them all (and I would recommend that), I would take them in chunks. And definitely in chronological order. I'd go with their dark, synthy, weird stuff first like "In the Garden", "Sweet Dreams" and "Touch". If you can find their "1984" soundtrack, get that too. Then I'd go for their soul/rock period and get "Be Yourself Tonight" and "Revenge". Then finish up with their final 3. "Savage" kinda stands alone stylistically. But "We Too Are One" and "Peace" go very well with Annie's solo stuff. Hope that helps.
