And... they took the track "Monkey Monkey" on the "Sweet Dreams" reissue directly from a vinyl copy of the single!!!! There are audible clicks and scratches. I guess they weren't able to find the master, but considered the song so important that it had to be included anyway. I have never heard of anything like this happening before - anyone else?

Sounds great, but it is definitely taken from a vinyl source.

Maybe it was intentional when they first recorded it.

I tried Best Buy first. I was rushing on my lunch break. I went in and this guy in the music section just gave me a blank look. Then he went to the computer, and he starts typing in, "a-r-i-t-h" I was like, jeez, just forget it.

I ended up going to Tower Records and getting them for 15.99 a piece... craziness, but I had to have them right then. heh. Down with Best Buy!!!!

I have a feeling that most people working in the media section of Best Buy don't even listen to music. I can't tell you how many strange looks I've gotten when asking about Bjork, The Cure or Bowie. I just don't bother anymore. I still will check there later in the week, cuz if I can score them for $12 or less, I'd be a very happy camper. biggrin

i was tempted to d/load them from iTunes - they are only 9.99 each. But i wanted the artwork - the packaging is AMAZING - and the sound isn't as good on mp3s.

but something like these reissues, no. definitely a CD purchase!

I just finished listening to Sweet Dreams.

OH

MY

GOD!

I was jumping around and dancing, hardly able to contain myself. Hearing those synths boom out of the speakers just unearthed something in me. Having these remasters dangled in front of our noses for over 2 years and finally having them see the light of day is a feat in and of itself. But hearing it...

Each of their albums is incredibly important to me. I got into them hardcore when I was 18 during the summer before leaving for college. I had a really rough time growing up and really found myself in each album. The inner strength in the face of adversity, the icy facade underlying a tender soul, the unwillingness to compromise...it all really resonated with me and became instrumental to who I am as an adult. I can't say that about many albums, but every one of the 9 Eurythmics albums awoke something different in me that is integral to my very core. Hearing these albums is a much needed reassurance of who I am and what I've overcome.

worship Eurythmics worship

Now wtf, I went to Best Buy and they didn't have one single Eurythmics remaster, individual or boxed.

Was this not released in Canada?

They were pushed back a week in Canada. sad I originally was going to get them in Canada (it's only a 10 minute drive from work) but they said it was delayed.

Plus, if Port Huron is any indication, Best Buy simply sucks.

Touch rules! touched

I think people who only know the albums will be shocked by some of the crazy B-sides only us diehards have known. lol Imagine a casual fan hearing "Lentils" for the first time or "ABC Freeform".

The cover of "Fame" is crazy!

Yeah, I wouldn't expect it at Best Buy even once it is out. They're the worst.

My first boy may be named Adrian. My idol growing up was a basketball player named Adrian Dantley. I've always identified with the name. The track is listed as being 4 minutes and 29 seconds. I was born at 4:29 AM on 4/29/1980.

Plus, the lyrics were basically told to me by someone unaware of the song at a very crucial time.
