Luther or Peabo Who do you think is the better R and B singer?
I personally like Peabo Bryson, his voice, his range *simply beautiful*. But Luther is more known than Peabo. Which do you prefer?

i find them equally yawn-inducing, but i'll give Luther the sympathy vote. [Edited 11/14/05 17:26pm] "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

damn that's hard
don't make me choose! We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

This isn't even for sentimental reasons, but Luther wins my vote. Jeux Sans Frontiers

Man, c'mon. Normally, I'd look at a thread like this very subjectively, but ya'll done gone and thrown Luther into the mix.....
1.) Both are great vocalists. This is true. 2.) Both have been influential. 3.) Luther is just better.

As much as I LOOOOOVE Luther, I think technically speaking, Peabo has Luther. I think I enjoyed Luthers songs more, but Peabo (as well as Howard Hewitt) had the stronger voice. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Lutha has stood the test of time, may God rest his soul. I enjoy Peabo's songs more than Lutha's though. Their both wonderful in my book.

Luther of course. Now, had you compared him to James Ingram ...the choice might have been harder for me.

I love Luther and miss him and his music, but IF I had to choose between the two of them, I'd go with Peabo. He is just a pure singer without embellishment. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.
