Yeah, I said almost the same thing in the Walk The Line v Get Rich... thread. We're suppose to believe he cares about someone other than himself? Puh-leeeze.

And I don't dig that comment about people jumping on Kanye because he was the first thing that came around that unlike 50, was non-confrontational. I don't even take him seriously. What else does he want to take credit for?

To begin with, that "stupid Americans" comment is uncalled for and unfair.

How many people do you know in the ghettoes of Los Angeles or New York or Miami or Chicago who are dealing with gun violence and turf wars on a daily basis??? Do you have any idea what life is like for these parents and extended family members who are fighting to NOT have their children and grandchildren follow "Fiddy" into the thug life, the prsions, and worse yet, THE GRAVE??? These people have EVERY right to complain when a corporate institution has the unmitigated GAUL to place billboards of a man's torso spread eagle with a gun in one hand and mike in the other hand with the words "GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN'" in front of places of learning for their small children. It is socially reckless and irresponsible, period. It shows that the parties involved from film studio to the alleged "artist" have much less interest in society's welfare vs. trying to rape already finacially and socio-politically bankrupt commmunities for the sake of lining their own pockets.

50's point was valid there. Cause I remember Jay-Z said something similar to that once. Like when Bad Boy was on top in 97-98 with their uptempo, feel good music, DMX hit the scene w/ his dark, hardcore, rugged style and everybody embraced him. Its like a ying yang thing - one's the ying to the other's yang.

He chose the right title though. These corporations are the ones that are going to "get rich" and idiots like 50 Cent (which is about all he's worth) are going to be the ones that "die tryin'". If I may use one of rappers' own phrases, he was definately "keepin' it real" with that title because that's exactly what's going to happen.

Im sorry, but when you live in a city thats below sea level, a diaster is bound to happen eventually. I heard the barricades that held the water wasnt even properly checked like they were supposed to. Sometimes things have to happen so the people will take precaution and not take things lightly....like the warnings signs of 9/11 attacks. The country officials are always caught sleepin. I cant wait until a hurricane hits the White House.

If nothing was wrong with those billboards, then why did they have new pictures shot and pull the old ones?

does anyone really believe there won't be some type of violence after this movie opens next Wednesday?

I wonder why they changed the name of the film. It was originally called "something" pieces or weight something, I think pieces of weight, then locked and loaded

The title itself is negative

The name of 50's autobio book is called "From Pieces to Weight".

The original name of the movie was called "Locked And Loaded", then "Hustler's Ambition" (which is the first single from the soundtrack). There aint nothin negative about the title "Get Rich Or Die Trying".

They didnt shoot "new" pictures, him holding the baby was from the new photoshoot. THe billboard pic at him holding a gun in one hand and a mic in the other.

And why do y'all acutally believe there's gonna be violence after the movie opens? Its just a movie about his life, making a transition from the street life to a better life (music), turning a negative into a positive. This aint no Menance 2 Society or a Scarface.

yeah, well that's actually the problem in a nutshell: turning the negative into the positive in the sense that he's made his bones glorifying some really negative shit.

So what about his music? He changed his acutal lifestyle. Besides, rap is negative cause most of these rappers come negative in environments; hence, they rap about what they know which is negative.

Okay, so if he changed his lifestlye, why's he still rapping about that bullshit? Wait, I guess he isn't. I've seen the Window Shopper video. He needs to get back out in the street and get shot again, because without pimping a gangsta image, he's got nothing.

Okay, Im assuming you probably havent the "Hustler's Ambition" video then.

But anyway, its not as serious as y'all make it; believing this is gonna acutally encourage violence is pathetic. Dont believe your own hype, people.

In blaxplotitation, all of the artists and people were in on the media....I don't think 50 Cent realizes just what he is...a lackey!

Something tells me that this movie won't be the hit some people are hyping it to be and the soundtrack won't sell a million in it's first week like I heard one person predict. It might debut high but it will drop off.

well there was violence way before so-called "gangster rap", so no i don't believe that a poster will convince a youth that its okay to kill...no its the parents job to teach them right from wrong...

i don't like 50 because of his childish remarks and how he backlashes at other rap artists just because they associate themselves with others on his "shit list". Whether if its just for publicity or not, that shit isn't cool, and believe me, its not that serious to me because i don't waste my money on him, but i'm just saying, as a person who was so-called shot 9 times, should be a little more humble about his success.

50 Cent Movie Pulled From Theater After Fatal Shooting
Man Killed After Altercation In Theater Bathroom

POSTED: 4:29 pm PST November 10, 2005

HOMESTEAD, Pa. -- The new 50 Cent movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin"' has been pulled from a Pennsylvania movie theater after a fatal shooting happened there Wednesday night.

Officials say they don't know if the movie was a factor in the shooting, but Loews has removed the film from the 22-screen multiplex just east of Pittsburgh.

A 30-year-old man died after being shot at least three times following an argument.

Police say the victim had just watched the movie and got into a confrontation with three men in the bathroom. A fight ensued and spilled out into the lobby concessions area, where the victim was shot.

Officials decided to stop showing the film while there is an investigation.

Police are still looking for witnesses and no suspects have been arrested.
