The best band of all time is the Red hot chilli peppers. in 2nd and 3rd place it's GnR and Kiss. Ask GNR, RHCP and Kiss, all will tell you Deep Purple's the best Ian Gillan's sister is my nephew's teacher at school. seriously, i'm not joking, how cool is that. and i wouldnt say Macca is a better songwriter or vocalist than MJ. |

I will agree that MJ has been a better vocalist throughout his career, but this songwriting business is clinically insane...Even if you take Mccartney's solo work, which at times has been a bit cheesy, MJ does not even remotely approach his writing skills...The problem is MJ often times relied on producers and songwriters throughout his career...Yes, I know MJ wrote more songs than people give him credit for, but let's cut it out with the revisionist history..He was a good songwriter with a superior ear for melody when he wanted to be (Billie Jean, Beat It, Don't Stop..., Stranger In Moscow) but he could also be plastic and at times just plain silly (Bad, "Black Or White," "Dangerous")....MJ is one of the greatest performers of his generation; I don't think we need to trumpt up his songwriting prowess to give him the credit he deserves... [b] Well its true you did read that as a fact so there is no dening that you believe this. A few questions that the blurb doesn't answer: "an offical survey" who took the survey? A MJ fansite or someone reliable? How many people were polled? 99% of the worlds population? Thats a lot of people. I have trouble believing an uncredited survey that is posted on a MJ fansite but who knows maybe it is a valid survey. But does being the most famous person in the world have anything to do with his being the King of Pop? | |

McCartney has had more hit singles. Combine The Beatles singles with McCartneys singles & no one comes close. His influence is much greater on pop music & has covered a larger period of time. The Beatles had hits before MJ even was in a recording studio. The Beatles were a large part of the social upheavel in the 60's. McCartneys music is covered by more artists. McCartneys Yesterday is the most covered song in pop history. MJ is a huge pop star but he is not The Pop Star unless that title is based on one monster selling album. Hello - this is me is a previous post denying that MJ is the King of Pop. Paul McCartney blows MJ out of the park. Im talking bout King not king of pop,oh so McCartney is the KOP to you then. No problem there. Michael Jackson will always be the true King. Just like to say Paul was offered to buy the catalogue twice before it was even up for sale, just a interview before the man who owned it passed away. But once it was in Mikes possession its wrong now is it? Once he owned it people started tripping? I bet if someone else bought it they wouldnt care too much. | |
