I'm just not ready to give up buying vinyl, cassettes, or CDs. hmph!

I like that I can physically pick up those items of music and transport them somewhere where I can THEN choose what I play them on (car deck, stereo).

With MP3's, it's like I would be paying for something I have to burn to cd-r to listen to, or have it ONLY on a portable device (ie. iPod). That's fine for stuff I can't get any other way, but it's my last resort.

Same here.I never download music on my computer.I prefer to have the actual CD (with the packaging, liner notes, lyrics, photos, etc) in my hand.Plus,it's alot of fun to go to the record store on the day when one of your favorite artists releases a new CD.

Though I will 4ever b a devotee of the art of record shopping, itunes is the best thing that's happened 2 my music collection since the whorish demi-Gods of the record industry stopped releasing singles. It's good stuff.
Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

There is no excuse for iTunes encoding tracks at such a poor rate. I have bought about 4 tracks and they all sounded horrendous! Their royalty payout is extremely poor; out of the 79p charged per track in the UK, the artist receives 4p. The record companies deduct 30% from this paltry amount owing to downloading being a new format, or at least that's how it is termed in standard artist contracts.

I use it to buy songs from 1-hit wonders or stuff that is out of print.
