divine indie goddess ani d released her dvd today (at least my copy arrived from righteous babe today!!) it's simply brillant! almost 2 hours of live footage, interviewesque segments and more from ani and some of her artist roster.
she gives a shout out to prince in the end credits, too. do yourself a favour and pick it up!!

Last time i saw her perform, almost exactly a year ago, she closed the show by covering When Doves Cry. It was pretty awesome, as the song wound down with only a bongo for accompaniment and the entire audience singing along. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.
Well... She WAS playing in minneapolis after all!

Ani is So cool. I never saw her here in N.Y. but I'd like to. I like what she says and what she stands for. She's not afraid of anything it seems and she seems really fun. she's Strong and Independent. I like that!

Got my copy two days ago. It hasn't left my dvd player yet. Ani blows away any other lyricist past or present. And her band can't be fucked with either. I only wish she'd included more than 2 seconds of my favorite song "Cradle and all".
