Anyone get the new Ryan Adams?? It came out yesterday, but I forgot all about it. Anyone pick this up and give it a listen? What did you think?

yeah, I've listened to it a few times now and I think
I'll need a lot of time to get used to this country n roll style. I just wish he'd release some more stuff like his 1st few releases Heartbreaker and Gold. Having said that, I truly dig his Cold Roses and was really looking forward to this for months now and I'm in no way disappointed by it. It's a cool album and my favs right now are the slow jams and the real ballads. The duet with Norah Jones is a very nice song. It will take me some more time to get into the rockin songs since I can't stand real country music. I've only started listening to it because Adams has a lot of it on his albums. Anyway, aside from my babble: cool album, will need a few spins tho to really sink in. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Cold Roses really didn't grab me (in fact, I sold it back almost immediately), and I heard that this album is more of the same. Didn't buy it, but I have heard some good stuff about it. His twangier material just doesn't appeal much to me. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I think it's his label who keep pushing him to do
more and more of this twangie country stuff while he's got other songs in the can as well. What about the 3rd album that would be released this year? Is that one still on the schedule or is this one the last for now? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

As far as I know the third album will still be released. They don't say when... The best thing about Ryan is that he does explore various musical genres, but it always sounds like him. I also love Heartbreaker and Gold and Love is Hell, too!

As far as I've heard, he still has the third album coming out really late in the year. Talk about saturating the market. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

yeah, but with artist like him that just release anything they want, they usually attract the kind of fans who will buy it all anyway. and just like Prince, despite all of his releases there's also a lot of unreleased stuff floating around. i had hoped to see him live at Rock Werchter this year but he had to cancel due to throat problems or something. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
