Just started listening to this song again recently; I love the melody and the musical arrangement. The lyrics are kinda depressing though, it tells of a man who had all these dreams when he was younger, and he comes to realize that none of his aspirations came true, thereby making him "the king of nothing". You feel like telling him, "Damn, dude, pop a Prozac or something. Life is not all that bad!" Great song; I love it!

Guess nobody remembers this song.

I like Seals & Crofts and listen to their greatest hits occasionally. This has always been a weird song to me. The music is very peppy, sort of like a Monkees song...and then those depressing lyrics.

DavidEye, you should start a thread about "Diamond Girl", since that was probably Seals and Crofts biggest hit. Everybody knows that song.
