In The Garden is very special to me as well. I don't know, it's just a weird album that sounds like no other in their catalogue and Annies vocals on it are amazing! and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

He had 1000's of vinyl records and loved everything pre-1990s I'd heard about "In The Garden" before but was never able to get hold of a copy since it was nearly impossible to find it or order it over here back then. (A few years later is was in all the stores again all of a sudden). Anywho, I was just making some coffee in the kitchen and then all of a sudden I heard Child in the distance A memory untamed Family connections There's a mess in the kitchen All messages received Always a quick reply The mood the afternoon Another change of light and I just froze, thinking "oh my f'in god, can it really be?" After that I started to comb through his record collection and became acquainted with many great great albums like Lou Reed's "Transformer" and Joy Divisions "Unknown Pleasures" etc etc... He even had some Tourists albums but I didn't really get in to those. Well, not before we broke up anyway. I still miss his record collection now and again heheh. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I wish that album had some more recognition. I think they could've easily pushed 4 singles from it. I mean, it took 3 before the Sweet Dreams album really went anywhere. I would've picked "Never Gonna Cry Again", "Belinda", "Take Me To Your Heart" and either "Your Time Will Come" or "English Summer". All would've made wonderful singles and videos.

1984 was issued on RCA, so licensing shouldn't be a problem. In an Ice Magazine article way back when the reissues were first being talked about, there was a quote that 1984 would come later, that they wanted to get the main catelogue albums out. But that was a couple years ago, so they should have had time to do 1984 by now. maybe they just don't think it will do anything sales-wise, or maybe they no longer like it. after all, sexcrime didn't make the "ultimate collection" 1984 was released on Virgin Records, distributed by EMI! (just check your copy... or you can see that the cover isn't included in the "old" greatest hits and in the Live 1983-1989 booklet - cuz it's another label...) I think Annie & Dave don't have a deal with EMI about the reissue - I think that's why "Sex Crime" didn't make this collection.

This is sketchy info, I know, but for Eurythmics fans...
I was reading the music supplement of one the papers yesterday and there was an advert about the new dual DVD/CD formats. Anyway, underneath, it had a list of artists who have upcoming releases in this format... one of them was the Eurythmics. The new Greatest Hits perhaps?

THEY GOTTA TELL US NOW!!!
I don't want to buy the Box Set only to discover some months later there's a second version with DVDA,SACD or Dual Discs (with 5.1 Mixes ) It's just not fair. It only hurts the REAL fans

all this In The Garden love makes me happy
I remember at the time I first fell in love w/ Eurythmics - around the time of Sweet Dreams - In the Garden had not yet been released in the US. I found an import of the vinyl, and picked it up. I was mesmerized by it, just like I was the Sweet Dreams album. But In the Garden was special because it was a "secret" album. It was an import, my first import album, and as a 12 year old I thought it was the height of cool. Like I had special knowledge that Yes, there was Eurythmics music BEFORE Sweet Dreams, and, dammit, it was great! In the Garden still has that aura of mysteriousness to me. I love the sound of it - doesn't sound dated at all. Beautiful record.

More info from ethrill.net:
A selection of answers to questions about the upcoming releases: 1. BOXED will only be released in the UK and other European territories. There are no plans to released BOXED in the USA or Canada domestically. BOXED will only include the digipack versions of the CDs. 2. The eight reissues albums will only be released as digipacks, not in jewel cases. 3. The European release date for all eight reissue albums and 'The Ultimate Collection' is Monday November 7th. The North American release dates for the same albums will either be Tuesday November 8th, or Tuesday November 15th. 4. Someone saw an advertisement for DualDisc albums in the UK (one side 'CD', the other side of the disc 'DVD'). Eurythmics name was mentioned on the ad as "Coming Soon." There is talk that 'The Ultimate Collection' might be released on DualDisc, however, nothing is confirmed and therefore confirmation on this is still pending. 5. Someone asked if "BOXED" will be released domestically in Japan and Italy. SonyBMG are making this available to Japan and all European territories to release, however it is down to the Japanese and Italian distributors, if they decide to release it. The same applies for Australia and New Zealand, and all the other European territories. 6. The single "I've got a life" will be released in the UK/Europe on October 31st. The US release date is still to be confirmed. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I have no issues with you as a person. I don't know who you are. I just think it's rude (although permitted) to join a long thread about something people are passionate about and shit all over it. That's it. We have a troll on the Eurythmics thread!! how cute I think this is a first on a thread that I started. ahhh i love the internet.
