When is she gonna learn to be happy and secure about herself and how she looks - and it seems as if she aint happy about her race either; she looks so far from being a black woman. If her name wasnt even printed in the magazine, Id never would've known it was her.

Lil'Kim looks like Cher!!!

here we go w/this.just b/c you have blonde hair even if its not ur color naturally doesnt mean ur tryna be white.so i guess Eve the rapper is tryna be white 2 oh and Da Brat...whatever...lil kim is on a whole different page-shes changed her FACE.

Once again, nobody's talkin about Lil Kim's blonde hair. Im aint sayin black woman with blonde are trying to be white. Im talkin about her skin tone and bright her face is, you would think she wants to be white. But I dont give a damn how a woman's hairs looks though.

And look at that other pic of her during trial - she is so fucking ugly its a disgrace. She's fuckin her face up. This "HollyHood" and "La Bella Mafia" shit has went to her head.

It's actually not a bad picture, but I certainly would have not known that it was Lil Kim. She didn't need any surgery at all, but too late for that. She looks better here than at her trial where her lips were unevenly shot up with collegen. In this photo she kinda looks like T-Boz with a long wig
Damn this kooky love affair....

ThreadBare

It doesn't get much more twisted: plastic surgeries, collagen injections, augmentations, blond wigs, blue contact lenses...

A female rapper known for her raunchy lyrics has done so much to her face that she now looks like a white woman trying to look like a black woman...

I hope she finds peace while behind bars.

In my opinion if people want to look more like a person of other race than their own, they should be bloody hell allowed to, and it's nobody's right to call them a "disgrace". It's just looks, for fuck's sakes. Their bodies belong to them, not to anyone else collectively.

Well, this is soemthing a lot of non-blacks won't get and some blacks themselves don't understand. It is a form of self-hatred when you try and make yourself look completely different from what you truly are.

exactly. nova i understand what ur sayin, but IMO that shit only apply to plastic surgery and hair color. but when u actually go out like kim did and change ur skin thats some whole other level shit right there. its offensive, its offensive because there seems to still be a stigma related to being blk. especially a dark skin blk. watch the rappers vids u'll see. if u light u gotta be right and if u dark o well. that shit is offensive big time

Why does it have to be about race & self-hatred?
If she put on a purple wig would that still be about self-hatred?
Or would that be displaying a sense of fun?

Again, non-blacks and some blacks don't know how deep this goes, therefore it's useless to discuss on a site like this.

Not exactly. If they want to butcher their looks and look ridiculous it's their business. No one's body belongs to a collective - sure you have every right to criticize such individuals and I'm there with you on the notion that she looks a bit crazy these days. The changing of skin color is indeed more than dubious, but it's the individual's choice. We can dislike it, even laught at it openly, but it really shouldn't be called a "disgrace" from the perspective of a whole ethnic group. An individual does not belong to a collective - their bodies are not anyone else's property. Besides, I think the charts in US have definitely proven that the old racist view of the music industry´s practises do not apply at all anymore.

I think I can handle the truth - you are the one who thinks its useless to discuss it - that only you can handle the truth.

Now if you had said that Lil Kim's wearing the blond wig & lightening her skin is an insult to the black race. An insult to the people who lived & died as slaves to the white race. An insult to all the black people who have fought & died in the years since "freedom" was proclaimed while fighting the white race for every little crumb.

But you didn't say that or anything at all except that you were too good to discuss the subject.

And you know what - maybe you are right - maybe I can't handle the truth.
But we'll never know since the truth is your little secret.

I feel it's an insult. As a black man, I can't stand seeing these sisters trying to lessen their blackness. Same with Mariah, Beyonce, Ciara and all the rest. It is a disgrace, and it looks stupid. To those who say it's no big deal, how many white girls do you see napping up their hair and permanently darkening their skin? Come on, let's tell it like it is. Some of our people have a poor self-image.

I grew up in the 60's, when "Black is Beautiful" and "Say it Loud...." were the mottos of the day. WTF happened since then?

People shouldn't be living their lives through lil Kim any more than they should Michael Jackson. She had plastic surgery. Are people going to allow that to color their opinions of themselves and black beauty in general?

Well from the looks of it, soceity in general has a way to go. You should see how on the other threads just at the org how the orgers are spitting fire at each other over Beyonce so it's really a trip. Whereas, I am like your do thing and say fuck what the world thinks. Shit, this is probably why I have been admirer of artists like P, Rick James, and Madonna.

That's pretty much my attitude as well. Although, I would be a liar if I didn't say I understand where people are coming from because one thing that drives me nuts as a gay man is when gay men and women try and appear/act as "normal" as possible to be accepted. I say finger, I'm going be ME not a charicature of what I think I need to be to make you happy. If you don't dig it, flipped off
