Could this be the greatest Rock & Roll hero of all time?

Please show your love for this often overlooked genius of popular music. A guy who personified the genuine spirit of Rock & Roll like hardly anyone else: fun, rebellion, social awareness and dazzling pink jackets. It is a crying shame that he still does not get the respect he so rightfully deserves. Even here on the usually very reliable ORG he hardly ever get's mentioned (and it's true, I checked with the search function, and the last thread was in early spring of 1971). So now it's time to give credit where credit is due. Give it up for

Shakin' Stevens

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

NO! And the fucker undeservedly won our 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' show when he's still releasing stuff so shouldn't have been eligable, and has a group of strange middle-aged cult obsessives in the realm of Status Quo.

I still can't believe he was something like the biggest selling UK-born male singles act of the 1980s domestically.

Oh damit, why all this hate I ask? disbelief

Is it just because his music admittedly sucks monkey dicks? Is it just because he looks like a genetic experiment performed on Elvis' afterbirth that went totally astray? Or because he dances like a drunken duck or sounds like a TheFrog on crack? Or rather because he enjoyed killing bats with egg spoons back at Junior high. Or maybe just because he didn't prevent George W. Bush from winning the second term (now this one is hard to swallow and almost unforgiveable, but anyway...)

Peanuts I say, just peanuts! So what does it all matter, if everything else about him is just this: pure perfection!

Dances LIKE a drunken duck? He's been drunk for the last 20 years lol

I think he and Adam Ant should form a duo so they can get into trouble together.
