So, what are your thoughts on Gang of Four? Unless you want me to call you a hipster? And about the ratings...I'm workin' on it. No, I don't want to be called a hipster. But I do want ratings! I'm going to have to up that new Gorillaz album yet again to about an 88. It rules. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

I also dig "Last Living Souls" and the "November" track featuring my favorite MC, MF Doom. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Okay, I'm game...
I'll even do it in your format Moonbeam. Stereolab - Oscillations from the Anti-Sun 99 The only thing that keeps me from giving this a total 100 is that I'm not super-familiar with it yet. Sir Anxy hooked me up with this a few months back and I decided to take it with me on a short trip to Florida. Driving around in the super hot and humid weather with near hurricane conditions with this set playing was just perfect. Everything clicked. For some reason, I was a bit misguided about this band. I thought I knew what they were about. I thought they were a flashy, trendy electronic group. Boy, was I wrong. Their mixture of swinging 60's, bossa nova, lounge pop, alt. rock and just plain cool won me over instantly. I can't say enough good things about this set and this band. Absolutely adore it. Gang of Four - Entertainment (reissue) 100 I'd had this album for awhile and knew it pretty well already. But getting this reissue just put it over the top for me. And now it's one of my favorite albums of all time. So much to say, so much attitude, a perfect fusion of styles, timeless material, great songs. If you like your punk rock funky and political, this band's for you. There are so many classics on here, that it's pointless to try to list them all. It contains their fabulous 'Yellow' EP as well. Kate Bush - Hounds of Love 94 I'm new to the world of Kate Bush. There were only so many comparisons to Tori Amos I could take before caving in. Back in the day, I wanted to get into her and thought I'd probably love her work. But after all of the Kate/Tori debate, I wanted to hate her cuz y'all know Tori's my girl. But I was pleasantly surprised once I finally did take the plunge. For several reasons. First off, Hounds of Love is stunning. Gorgeous. Haunted and hallucinogenic in parts. And the only thing that keeps me from giving this a perfect 100 is that there are a few songs I just don't like - Waking the Witch and Jig of Life, namely. But another important reason, and probably my main one for buying her stuff without knowing any of it ahead of time, is that my vision of Tori as unique and original is still intact. Sure, I can see some similar vocal ticks and they layer background vocals and harmonies similarly. But Kate sounds like Kate. Tori sounds like Tori. Needless to say, I was relieved. And excited. Cuz I discovered a brilliant artist.

I have been telling you that! I always hate the pidgeon-holing (that what you call it, if I typed it wrong; no pun intended) of artists, even if we all do it; like I did when you made me tell you what Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! sounds like. We all pidgeon-hole, I am afraid. Ooh, this new artist uses a high voice and plays piano; she is the new Kate Bush! Ooh, this African-American sings falsetto and dances REAL good; he's the new Prince. It is a way to OR market an artist OR to tell your audience in what kind of key to think.

Cuz I discovered a brilliant artist. I just got this album a few weeks ago, having no exposure to Kate whatsoever either. I adore it and don't seem to get tired of it, though I'm wearing out the CD. My favorites are Running Up That Hill, Under Ice, and Mother Stands For Comfort. I bought it at the same time I got From the Choirgirl Hotel so I'm on a kind of discovering those two albums, which are completely different by the way.
