How Often do you purchase Cd's?

I suppose it varies but lately I think i've bought at least 4 cd's a month which seems like a lot when you think about it. This year all of the cd's that i've been waiting for are out or coming out sometime this year. Seems liek a great time for music.

Wow, that's pretty fuckin impressive! Guess you really love music. I feel like music is my life. I can't go a day without listening to something and I carry my discman with me wherever I go!

NOT OFTEN. I'VE BEEN DISAPPOINTED TOO MANY TIMES BUY CD'S AND ONLY CARING FOR 3-4 SONGS ON IT. IF I DO BUY ANY IT'S USUALLY A BOOTLEG.
I'M NOT SHOUTING, JEEZ!

i buy some form of music almost everyday. lately i've taken to buying cds from ebay and, including shipping, paying about 5 bucks or less! its cheaper than used cd shops and if i only like a few tracks i don't feel like i've wasted money. i'm also a big supporter of itunes! the only artists i care to have sleeves for are those whom i really, really get into (prince, tori, u2) but if i can buy music for 9.99 without the clunky cases and such, great!

because of my (business & travel) expenses, I am

CD-FREE

indefinitely..

but under "normal" circumstances, I buy 5 or more per month.
my (rather impressive) music collection is still mostly cassettes & vinyl, so realistically it's going to be at least.. SEVEN years before I'll be close to catching up the cd's with the rest of what I have, while still buying recent music that I like..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

I usually hit the second hand shops every second week or so and buy a dozen or so discs or vinyl albums.

I used to have a pretty bad vinyl habit - for a few years I was buying 20-30 albums a week, and I bought out a couple of collectors in 95. It got to the stage where my collection was squeezing me out of my house, so I ended up putting abour 80% of it into storage - I occasionally dip into it when I feel the urge, but I'm probably going to face up to reality and donate it to a charity shop or see if I can get a collector to make a reasonable offer.

It all depends. I always buy new releases by my favorite artists on the first day. I've had phases where I was buying something every week, sometimes more than once a week. Right now, I won't be buying anything for at least a month. It kinda corresponds to my listening habits as well. If I'm only into one artist, I usually don't buy much cuz I've got what I need. But in between phases, I sometimes buy up to 20 cd's at a time. It all depends.

I go through phases...bought a whole bunch of CD's about a month ago, so I guess I'm due for another shopping spree. wink However, I tend to buy most of my stuff used, unless it's someone I already know and like, then I'll grab it new right away. And like someone else mentioned, I also check out CD's from the local library (though the popular titles are often trashed by the time I get to them sad ) If I like it, then I'll go buy it.

The CD's sure have piled up over the years (and a number have gone astray over time): I've got a big CD rack that's supposed to hold about 400 CD's if I remember right...that's full now and I'm using smaller racks for the overflow. biggrin

Anxiety

i told myself i'd start showing some restraint w/ music shopping this year, but that's not going so well. lol

still and all, i find myself NOT buying a bunch of stuff that i'd probably impulse-buy in days past.

that said, i try to be aware of what's coming out on any given week, but that doesn't mean i'm always rushing to best buy on tuesday for new stuff. sometimes there are long droughts where there's nothing whatsoever that i have any desire to purchase. lately, it hasn't been so much like that. lol
