i've had one of those rare weeks where i've bought new music and i've been loving all of it - namely, the new album by new order, the stereolab b-sides box set, and the cure's reissue of 'faith'.

This week I've been listening to Chet Baker and George Michael. Very different artists, but both are great. I enjoy any cd from either of these guys, at any time.

I love him and I think he's the greatest lyricist of our time. Get "blood on the tracks". It's awesome!

Ok u forced me into it. Track they both wrote together is called "steel bars". it is off MB's "time love and tenderness" album. It is dylan is delivery in places with a very strong middle 8 that has phrasing just like dylan. Good track. Don't hate bolton. iam amazed dylan liked him but then thats dylan for ya! But it is a really nice and surprisenly rocky track.

I've listened to Julian Cope's Peggy Suicide from start to finish every night after work this week. I hadn't listened to a second of that album for ten years, and suddenly it's become a complete obsession. Go figure...
The only other album I've played in its entirety this week is John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band - and I seem to be enjoying the last four songs from American Music Club's Mercury an awful lot these days.

Ben Folds- Songs for Silverman (the best album I've heard in probably 3 years) Everyone needs to hear this, he's the best songwriter of the current generation....
Also, been listening to my new album "Joel Gone Wild"- I'll have some songs up soon on myspace.com soon- check it out sometime next week!

go you! when i get in a mood for that album i tend to do the same thing. it's just one of those rare records where there are TONS of songs on it (it feels that way, anyway), and even though some tracks are stronger than others, ya never want to hit the skip button. every few years i'll completely gorge myself on peggy suicide, then i'll get burnt out on it all over again...

'lipslide' was only available as an import for the longest time before the US version came out - the track listings on both are pretty wildly different. then they released 'kelly's locker' as an ep to make up for tracks that weren't on the US version, and to add on some b-sides and remixes from the import singles. the whole thing was kind of a mess, but if you have the US version you have all the good stuff anyway.
