Yeah, and you notice how Madonna ended up in this thread..... it was called Britney VS Kylie, how did Madonna get here? When people finally realize that Kylie is everything that Britney should have been: A young lady who used to actually look up to Madonna as a standard in modern dance-pop culture. And in due time, she finally mature enough to be her own woman with her own beautiful ideas/images to promote. Kylie learn this lesson very well & won. Britney failed and lost. Kylie IS better than Britney & Madonna. [Edited 4/11/05 21:02pm]

Regarding the article Chico posted:
Kylie should realize how it was when she first started out. She was controlled by managers, labels and all other higher ups as well. Is it not hypocritical to target Britney because she doesn't have much control? Britney will get hers one day, until then it's best to appreciate what Britney offers: good dance music and a sexy persona America loves ot loves to hate.

I wouldn't throw either one of them out of bed. If I could get both of them together, that would be even better. But uh, I could careless about their music. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Since I dont know Kylie well, but still like her style of music..unfortunatley I have to go with Britney onle because I am in America so I can't help but to like up to 7 or 8 of her songs, plus I know more about her. I'm always late to start on these threads, because sometimes it's more fun to watch the arguments than to contribute to the thread.
Personally, I don't see a lot of difference in their music. They both make likeable though ultimately disposable dance pop. Mixed in with that pleasant stuff is a whole mess of boring filler. I like Can't Get You Out of My Head, Burning Up and Slow, but ...One More Time, Crazy, Toxic and I'm a Slave 4 U are better than anything Kylie's done. I can't see completely discrediting the music of one while praising the other for any other reason than snobbery or the fact that Brit's life is a tragic white-trash mess. Kylie has two things going for her - she's kept the focus on her career and she's got longevity on her side. Britney's life is a mess and it's taken center stage over her music. But from what I've seen, Britney works it better onstage. Kylie moves about as good as Whitney, Mariah (well, is anybody as bad as Mariah in the Someday video?) and Mary J. She's a piece of limp cardboard when it comes to dancing. Sure, Britney dances like a stripper, but it's entertaining and it fits her music.

Well you know the real difference is, and why this thread is so irrelevant (and INSULTING mind you, you bastards), that Kylie Minogue's core audience is mostly grown-ups, while Britney's target audience has always been teenagers and younger. Kylie Minogue is a product (yes, a product I admit) for the nightlife, she is a fashion icon favoured by designers and has a terrific sense of taste - even if it involves recycling concepts of kitschy trashiness from time to time. Britney's cultural importance so far has been that of the level of McDonald's.

I was only pointing out the reason why she doesn't dance at her concerts. People don't go to a Kylie concert to see dancing. It's a spectacle to be sure, but more along the lines of Broadway theater than music video.

Even her detractors (including some on this board) admit they've enjoyed her concerts when they've been dragged to them by a significant other. I've heard from so many people who've been really disappointed by a Britney concert. Britney can dance, sure, but she doesn't really put on a show, which is what you want from an act whose talent lies in theatricality (Janet, Michael, etc.).

Kylie doesn't dance because she has no training in dance. Britney's shows are too choppy. there is no flow. do a song watch a video that has nothing to do with the show that is going on come back on stage do two songs... watch a video...repeat for the next hour. the onyx hotel was an hour and half show but only 45mins of music. So? Does Donna Summer twirl around the stage simply because she majors in disco? I think not. And, NO, I'm not comparing their talent or lack thereof in Kylie's case. All I'm saying is that she always does her stuff live, so I have to give her some props for that. If you go to her show, you shouldn't be expecting calisthenics.
