Scorpion

Kylie does have better music than Britney & Madonna too.

Brit's "Breathe On Me" & "Toxic" were originally for Kylie but she turned them over to Britney.

there is no Kylie without Madonna. that is a simple, unimpeachable fact. oh sure, she's still exist. but she'd be the Susan Lucci of the Australian market. not a multi-million selling global superstar.

Kylie doesn't even know how to get out of bed in the morning unless Madonna does it first.

After the sucess of the Fever album, Kylie didn't have look up to Madonna anymore. She was now better than Madonna.

To be fair, they are respect fans of each other!

That's not true. Once Kylie left PWL, she never really followed Madonna's lead. Kylie Minogue doesn't sound like Madonna. Madonna never had anything like Impossible Princess until she recorded Ray of Light a year later. From then on, Kylie has been consistently better than Madonna and hasn't exactly followed her lead.

no? Fever and Body Language sound like Music and American Life, to me. only taken in a completely fluffy pop direction. without Madonna, Kylie would not have turned to this type of music.

To be fair, they are respect fans of each other!

more accurately, they are respected photo-ops for each other.

Are you serious?

Kylie's Fever can eat Madonna's Music alive! And for the record, I like Music & Ray Of Light.

And there is no way in hell that anyone can put Kylie's Body Language & Madonna's American Life in the same sentence. Impossible!!!lol

lol

you may think that Fever is better, but it is a direct result of Music.

why not? the dance tracks are the same style of music. the only difference is AL does it well while having a point to the subject matter, while Kylie's also does it well, while never rising above the level of vapid.

Those comparisons are way off. Fever sounds nothing like Music. Music is way too organic. In the same light, American Life is way too organic for Body Language. The dance tracks on Body Language sound like 1999-era Prince. If anything, there are a few tracks on Body Language that sound a little similar to Madonna's material from Bedtime Stories, and even that is a stretch.

I prefer britney. "one more time" was a cool song. Kylie has never done a song as good as that. "confide in me" was quite cool as was the very gay "better the devil u know" (which I own off a soundtrack!)

Neither can sing but hey. biggrin

As if "cant get u outta my head" is some masterpiece. Music mag Q seems to love her?

This has been mentioned many times before at this site, but because of the overt trash factor that's prevailing in the American society as of speaking most American's just aren't able to understand what the Kylie Minogue -phenomenon is all about. From the outset this thread is quite stupid if somebody is implying these two names would have much in common. Yes, Kylie Minogue is a female singer and she uses her sexuality to sell records - the similarities end there.

Btw, Kylie is actually more regarded these days in the art music circles than Prince is. That should tell something.

You're most welcomed to stay in denial. Kylie Minogue is more revered inside the art circles than Prince is. It's very much a fact.

Spats

Britney by a mile. She kills Kylie or whatever her name is in the looks department. Kylie has a horsey look about her that you see in a lot of british women and Britney has personality and is a lot sexier and makes catchier pop tunes and has sold more music. Britney is a pop culture icon now. You don't even have to say her last name anymore.

lol Well, I like to "vote" on the "vs" threads like anyone else.

Somehow Madonna ended up in here as well though. confused Let's put it this way: If someone gave me tickets, I'd actually go to a Kylie concert. I wouldn't go to see Madonna OR Britney if you paid me. lol

Well, maybe if you paid me a LOT. razz

Briters and Kylie have alot in common... both started out as puppets for their record companies.

Kylie met Michael Hutchence and started taking more control of her carear.

Brit met Kevein Fertline or whatever and her choices aren't that great.

Kylie got elevated to art status cause she ditched the whole traditional pop star thing with the release of the Kylie Minogue 94 album, which besides a few standout tracks sound alot like the rnb Paula Abdul used on her Head Over Heals cd. Than Impossible Princess/ Kylie Minogue 98, IP was the name in Austrilia and Kylie Minogue was the name in the UK becasoe of the death of Di, Nick Cave duet and Towa Tei duet proved to them that she was willing to make risks to make some good songs. However the general public didn't like it that much. They wanted Kylie to do pop. I think Kylie has the ability to make great dark dance music and she has some great jazz sounding bsides from that Decon era.

She went straight back to pop after it though. And when i first heard most of Light Years it sounded to me she took a cue from Beautiful Stranger and did the whole retro 60's 70's vibe espically Koocachoo.

Fever is a great album. Body Language not so great.

With the help of her production crew she has put on some great fantastic visually stunning shows, but my mom watched the FeverTourDVD and wasn't impressed. She's an averege midwesterner. She didn't like the arty cheorgraphy, and thought the show was boring.

Britney's concerts are too choppy and have way too many interludes i think Onyx hotel had 7 different video interludes and the actual music only took up an hour of an hour and a half show.

just based on shows and quality of pop music and depth Kylie wins.

But, they both look towards Madonna for inspiration. Hell Kylie, Dannii, and Kylie's creative director were at the RIT taking notes for her tour.
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Blue and Kylie were big winners at the Capital Awards

Pop star Kylie Minogue has put the boot into her rival Britney Spears, saying she should be in more control of her career.
Minogue was speaking the day after fans of Spears booed at the première of her new movie Crossroads because she was whisked straight into the London cinema without signing autographs.

Spears said she had wanted to meet with waiting fans but it was deemed too much of a security risk.

Speaking at the Capital FM Awards, Minogue said: "Her PRs have pushed her in the wrong direction and she is being misguided.

"Britney's been in the business a long time and she should know the ropes by now."

But Minogue was in for some stick herself as Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones took a swipe at the former Neighbours actress for being an ex-soap star and not an artist.

The Welshman was speaking after Minogue picked up best international female and best international single for Can't Get You Out of My Head at the London awards.

Britney Spears has been receiving negative publicity

Jones said: "I think the country's gone a little bit mad about what's a celebrity and what's an artist.

"I hope our kids realise the difference. You're only as good as your last record - and Kylie, you'll always be Charlene to me, love."

Jones made the comment when Minogue had left the ceremony to conduct a television interview.

'Zoo animals'

But Queen guitarist Brian May leapt to her defence as he picked up an award for his band's contribution to music.

He said: "Most people in this room get ***** off with being celebrities - it's rather like being zoo animals.

"Kylie, as far as I'm concerned you're an artist and you can do whatever you like."

Brian May and Roger Taylor picked up an outstanding contribution award for Queen

Minogue was joined on the winners rostrum by Dido for best British female and Robbie Williams for best British male.

Williams took the opportunity to hit out at Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates.

In a recorded acceptance speech he had Gareth scrawled on his forehead while singing Spears' hit I'm a Slave 4 U, suggesting Gates was nothing more than a record company puppet.

Boy band Blue picked up three awards, winning best pop act, best newcomer and best single for If You Come Back.

Case In Point: Chocolate

THAT video is a beautiful piece of art.

And the music (along with Red-Blooded Woman) is about the closest thing to "hip-hop" that Kylie has ever done.
