I'm not. I haven't listened to hardly any of his music, so I'm pretty indifferent.

Why?
Were you born humming to Ray's tunes or something?

There is always a reason to start listening to something new and being hot is as valid as any other...I think confused

I think she means those who are just pretending to know and love his music cause he's being talked about so much these days.

Well I grew up hearing my grandmother singing "Hit the Road Jack" In her kitchen. So Ray has always been around for me.

What, you want me to name names or something? I'm just saying, conformity happens in society, so that's why you get ppl hopping on the latest bandwagons.

Name names? Hell, why not. We can ask them why. Or are you simply accusing with no factual basis?

Have you ever been to high school? There's your factual basis.

I'm talking about bandwagons in general, and the general tendency for some ppl to conform to whatever's popular amongst a large crowd.

Asking for proof that a thing like that happens is just silly.

Then you are not talking about the "Ray" factor, but simply that people follow popular trends. Always have, always will.

Thats not a Ray thing.

i'm pretty sure that a good number of young folx are just now discovering brotha ray's music and were even more buoyed by his life story...there's nothing wrong w/ that...they probably just saw him as a "little ole blind man" who did pepsi commercials...now they know so much more.

i was lucky that my parents are from the real "old school" (my dad was 50 when i was born) and exposed me to a lot of great music, including ray charles.

No, but obviously it also applies to Ray.

No, I just think that Ray had been in the public eye enough for practically everyone to know who he was and to have dug him when he was here. People forever buy folks stuff when they pass away. Kinda morbid, actually.
