I absolutely think a lot of people prentend to like Ray Charles' music. A lot of people like to pretend to have a wide variety of taste when they are around people that actually do have a wide variety of taste. These people are always looking for "acceptance" from everyone else and follow whatever is popular at the time.
These people that are pretending need to get a life and stop worrying about what other people think about them. If you like something, you like it, and if you don't, you just don't. You, as an individual, are entitled to your own taste and if other people down you for it, then the hell with them. There's no doubt that Ray Charles was a very talented artist but I never cared for his style of music or his voice when he was alive so nothing has changed for me now that he is gone and it would be rediculous to pretend that it has.
