John Legend to join Alica Keys on tour!

http://www.mtv.com/news/a...lines=true

Slated to kick off on February 25 in Miami, the 34-city theater tour will make stops in Los Angeles (March 16 and 17), Atlanta (April 6 and 7),Chicago, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and other cities; a complete itinerary is expected within the next few days. The trek will wrap up with two shows at Radio City Music Hall in Keys' hometown of New York on April 22 and 23.

R&B newcomer/Kanye West protégé John Legend will join Keys on the tour as her opening act. The two worked together previously when Legend sang background on her single, "You Don't Know My Name."

I plan on checking this show out once other dates are announced. I might need a date. wink

I think that John is doing a few dates alone. I went to his site yesterday and they had some dates on there for shows that he's doing now.

I'm pretty sure that once he gets going he will have his own tour. I've heard that he's really good.

oh yes, if that could happen it would be heaven, but he's only got one album, so its understandable that he would join someone else on the tour, looks like i gotta grab my tickets for April 20th in Richmond, VA babeeeee!!!!!
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Have any of you seen both of these artists live? If so, what makes a John Legend show better than an Alicia Keys show?

I'm asking because it seems to be a lot of people that want to see him. I heard that he's really good but why is he better to some of you?

well his album is really good and some of his performances live on tv have been acceptable to me, therefore, i would like to see him live. i don't think he's better than alicia keys (not yet anyway), but he is really talented and if i have to see alicia keys just to see him, than so be it.

I heard his new song on the radio and was very impressed. I think this is a good double bill, UNFORTUNATELY Alica will never visit my neck-o-da-woods so I won't be able to see him.

I'm not an Alicia Keys fan but I am a John Legend fan. In my opinion, Alicia's album is fluff and John's has a lot of soul and substance.

What's the definition of fluff? You don't believe that Alicia has soul or substance?

Johns album is good but I was disappointed that he made the best song on there, which in my opinion was "Lets Get Lifted Again", an interlude.

fluff? fluff is simplistic songs lacking in structure..repetative choruses cause you cant think of anything dynamic to add to the tune.....and vocal executions that are way way too predictable and lacking of sophistication or subtlety...

Fluff is sampling, fluff is simplistic songs, fluff is selling albums on hype and not actual talent.

Well John did quite a bit of sampling on Get Lifted, Ordinary People is simplistic in many ways but simplicty can turn into good work if done right, Vibe gave John Legend 5 mics and he compared his debut to Miseducation of Lauryn Hill plus he has Kanye backing him along with articles written on him titled "The Making of Legend".

If that isn't hype at it's best then I don't know what is.
