I know someone who is 40 and they have been struggling for years trying to get signed. i hate to say it but i think his time must be up now. the music industry has changed a lot over the years. most of the artists coming out now are 12. no one wants to seea 40 year old any more.

I went to a music industry seminar last year and one of the speakers said you have a better chance outside the US if you're over 16, lol. Also, it does depend on the music genre you're working in.

Ibrahim Ferrer, from Buena Vista Social Club. He was 78 or something when he signed his record deal!

(Although, I admit, he's probably the exception!)
