I've heard about this guy on & off for years & finally got the his first solo LP recently & was blown away from it. If you like the Beatles & particularly Paul McCartney's solo work you'll definitely like his music. I'm not sure if he did it on purpose but the similarities to Paul is uncanny particularly with this first LP.Every song on it is a pop gem. Songs like Lullaby,Fresh as a Daisy,Promises I made, You should be Ashamed, & You Must Have wouldn't look out of place on any Beatle or Paul's LPs from the 70s. Another amazing thing is he produced,composed, arranged, & played all the instruments on 3 of his 4 solo LPs in his mother's garage!!Never getting the recognition he deserved, he quietly fell off the music map after releasing his 4th LP. In fact he still lives across the street from his parent's house in Hawthorne,Ca. birthplace of the Beach Boys! Unfortunately his solo work is currently available as expensive Japanese imports !
