PrintableEminem seems to always take on those who are easy targets. He stated he would beat up Moby or at least wasn't above hitting a guy with glasses at the MTV awards. He fought with. C Aguilera, parodys Michael Jackson. A few years ago one outspoken hip hop artist ( I can't remeber who was calling him and Dr. Dre out) was calling him out and he never said one word about it or to said artists since. In the end,who really cares what Eminem does in his videos anyway? He's just trying to get some controversy and raise a few eyebrows.The problem for him is that,there really is no way you can "shock" people anymore.Everything has been done before.He's already dressed in drag before...he's already made fun of other artists in his songs....he's already done songs about raping his mother and killing the mother of his child...this latest video is a big yawn,if you ask me.His whole gimmick---playing the angry,misunderstood,emotionally abused young man---is played out.It's like,who cares?! | |

I don't believe in censorship - I think you just have to trust people out there to make up their own minds and sift through the crud to find the truth. Unfortunately people don't always get it right, but you that's their right.
I don't seem how it can really cause any serious harm that Eminem has made a video that alludes to Michael Jackson alledgely having sex with minors - will it really cause people to believe it is true, if they didn't already? Will it affect the truth of what went on/ didn't go on? Will it affect the outcome of the trial? The only concern I have is that joking about child abuse (alledged or real) is in pretty poor taste - but that doesn't mean he should be silenced. It's MY taste he offends, so it is MY switch that should turn it off when he comes on TV, not my government's. | |
