Eminem has used gimmicks and antics since the Slim Shaddy days...a perfect respresentation of where music/ or better yet (so called hip-hop) is going...down the drain...I just makes me yearn for the Kool Moe Dee's, Big Daddy Kanes, even Heavy D. Folks who don't need to jump around acting like a clown poking fun at other stars. And that's what Eminem is a Clown! But yet he'll still sell millions of albums of course, and receive an AMA, Grammy, MTV and whatever other award there is out there! I saw the video and it's not funny, by any measure, not because the MJ reference, but because it was a recycled video, nothing orginal just same ole Eminem.

I consider Eminem to be intelligent. Sure he is unoriginal, repetitive, and sometimes offense-but he knows what he is doing, or he wouldn't have such a successful career. He causes controversy, and sells millions upon millions of CDs. Michael Jackson may have brought the countless jokes upon himself, but it's disgusting to degrade other humans -MJ or anyone else- the way Eminem does just for sales and a cheap laugh. Really, you shouldn't have to bring others down to raise yourself up. | |

I liked the video. MJ is no untouchable. If you make bad decisions, be prepared for what comes afterwards. Im no fan of MJ's controversey and i realize its all in his own doing. But Mr Slim SHadey used that to his advantage to sell more records.... And he should show that he has his own potential by just being himself instead of Moby Madonna and MJ in videos. I dont see him as a great songwriter at all If you think its ok to use others errors to get ahead, well then fine but i dont see it that way | |

Em always drops the dumb shit first. I think he understands his fans. I think he does an injustice to hip hop buy doing so much of this silly stuff....but I still think he's a great lyricist. He does get much respect from those in hip hop.

It's vaguely depressing that anyone would think this kind of mildly irritating pap "controversial". The only thing that would make anyone even raise an eyebrow is how old some of the references in the video are. MC Hammer?? Madonna's Gaultier costumes?? Michael Jackson's nose??? Jeez! The guy always picks easy targets, but this stuff was stale more than a decade ago!!!
Vaguely nostalgic for those of us over the age of 25, but I imagine that most of Eminem's fan base was born around 1990!!! Shame, because I can remember hearing 'Stan' for the first time on the radio, finding it really compelling, and thinking what a talented lyricist he was. Ah well, whatever sells, I guess.....
